I just was going to say the same, Prince is almost untouchable. But Chris and Sinead gave this song different lives in different ways. If I’m not mistaken, this was either the last or one of the last things Chris ever did. It still makes me cry. Because they were thinking of someone they loved in a complicated way in their own way.

Love Chris. He was the voice of a generation. He was the lead singer for Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave. He did several solo projects and songs for several soundtracks. I hope you continue listening to more. I don't think you'd be disappointed. Chris and Chester Bennington from Linkin Park were good friends, you should check out Linkin Parks performance of One More Light on the Jimmy Kimmel show, they dedicated it to Chris right after his passing. Chester passed two months later on Chris's birthday. Both gone way to soon.

Chris was the front man for Temple of the Dog in the very early 90's, and "Say Hello to Heaven" is the song that truly embodies his 4 octave vocal range. The song was written for Andrew Wood, lead singer of Mother Love Bone, who tragically overdosed and passed. This was the very beginning of the grunge explosion. Temple of the Dog was composed of members from both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, two of the greatest rock groups of all time.

🥰Beautiful reaction! Chris was on a whole other level when it came to singing... he isn't known as "the voice" of a generation for nothing!!😜❤ Anyway, to help you a bit as you embark on a Chris Cornell journey it is important for you to know Chris was the founder, lead singer and lyricist for 3 HUGE bands in the Grunge, Rock and Alternative Rock genres here's his bands... 1.) SOUNDGARDEN 2.) TEMPLE OF THE DOG (a one-time collab album in tribute to the late Andrew Wood)... it's an EPIC album and also was the catalyst for the band PEARL JAM forming!! 3.) AUDIOSLAVE Looking forward to seeing you experience the beauty and greatness of Chris' catalogue. Peace and light...✌💞 EDIT: Chris also has an extensive solo catalogue (this song is part of his solo endeavor). Another great one from his solo stuff is his cover of MJ's "BILLIE JEAN"... it's the same song, same lyrics but sung with a whole different affect... you will have the chills (in the best possible way😁)!!!

I think you'd definitely love his solo work When I'm Down. Probably one of the best examples of what he was capable of. Just him and a guy named Dennis playing piano. More like a bluesy piano lounge act. Live at the troubadour. I saw him perform that song at hangout music fest in 2012. Instead of having a piano onstage he brought a VINYL recording of the piano and played it on a record player. Probably 30-40 thousand people on the beach. Just him and his guitar and the record player. Of course it was at sunset too. Never would have imagined we'd lose him less than 5 years later. Life is beautiful. Life is sad. Life is crazy. Life is wonderful. Just try to leave things better than they were before. I think Chris definitely did that .

Chris was literally the voice of our generation. He embodied rock/grunge music in every note of his sweet voice. His biggest success came as the frontman of Soundgarden and Audioslave but his musical legacy is so much deeper than that. He was one of the godfathers of grunge music as it burst out of the Seattle streets in the late 80’s/early 90’s. He left behind a plethora of beautiful music that will live on forever. A fun fact: Chris did a solo project with Timbaland that I believe didn’t really get the respect it deserved. It was Chris going out on a limb to create something different and more playful than his darker stuff. I know I enjoyed that music even if others may not have loved it as much.
