Sewanee didn't just "become D3", Sewanee petitioned the NCAA to start Division 3 football. So it wasn't just a founding member of the SEC, it was also the founding institution for non-scholarship Division 3 football. The school has a fascinating history including it's famous "Iron Men" team of 1899 in which the football team barnstormed the south playing (and beating) 6 football powers in 7 days. Coach Bobby Bowden is on record saying it was the greatest football achievement he'd ever heard of. Also, that team was inducted into The College Football Hall of Fame (I believe its the only team to have been inducted).

23:23 that statute is of corner back Chucky Mullins who tragically was paralyzed in a game against Vanderbilt in 1989. The reason your coach went up by like 30 levels and you got 300 coach credits is because theres a glitch where you play on heismen and simulate and it just gives you so much xp. Obviously to prevent this is either play on all-american or you can do some testing with the xp sliders and find a good spot where it gives you a regular amount of xp on heisman difficulty.
@TillmanStudios21 күн бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that as well. I usually play on All-American, but the one time I played on Heisman I simulated my first season and was all of a sudden, like, a 40 level coach.

I've discovered the cover 2 in EA games either works or it doesn't. In the games it doesn't work, it really doesn't work and I get torched... bad! I've also discovered, when that is happening, be sure to use a lot of nickel (3-3-5) and dime formations (3-2-6), combined with heavy pressure on the QB (aka: lots of blitz's). In other words, be sure to have at least 3 CBs on the field and you are always sending at least 1 extra person (LB or S) after the QB. I also pay attention to man v. zone. When one isn't working, use the other. When all else fails, the occasional 4-4 safety blitz works surprisingly well. If, after all this, you are still getting beat ask yourself, WHERE am I getting beat? If you notice it is one guy in particular, go into your coach options and change your lineup so you have a better CB against him. If there is nothing you can do to stop them, again ask yourself, "WHERE and HOW?" Is it a matter of speed? Ability? The answer to that question should be addressed during the draft and the off-season. Remember, you could have the most skilled CB in the league, but if he's too slow to keep up with the WR (think: 96 OR CB with 89 speed vs 69OR WR with 98 speed on a streak. As a QB and I see that match up. I snap the ball; as soon as I see my WR even with that CB, if the safety isn't moving over, I bomb it to that receiver. If the safety doesn't get over there, that is a TD every time! Even with a 69 OR receiver, he will out perform the best CB in the league, if that DB can't keep up with him.) In such a case, this 96 OR, 89 speed CB should be placed as my slot receiver and no better than my #2. Who is my #1, 2 or 3 can vary per game. It's all based on the physical attributes of my opponent. This is a big mistake many people make. You see a Tyreek Hill, do you put your slowest DB on him? Hell no! What if your best DB also happens to be one of your slowest? In the case of the Dolphins, he's not keeping up with Hill. He's also not keeping up with Waddle. In this case, for this game, your best DB is slotted in as your #3 CB, lining up against their #3 WR or their TE. Sure your 2nd and 3rd best (maybe even you #4 CB) are not as good, but at least they are keeping up with their receivers. Thus, making their QB take a moment longer to find that opening. Add in a fast rush from a LB or two or perhaps a safety blitz... Meanwhile, your #1 CB - who's stuck playing the slot - is pretty much shutting down the short and mid dump off passes that seem to find the TE or #3 WR. The RB dump off? Guess who's there to handle that too? The point is... figure out how and where you are getting beat and make the adjustments needed. And... #1 does not always mean the best for all situations. Sometimes #1 playing at #3 is better. (This works best for DBs and WRs)

Hey Bordeaux, someone already posted this under another video on your other channel, but I wanna repost here too. I think you should do the Nick Saban Challenge. Using Alabama, you have to get 7 national championships, 9 conference Titles, 4 Heisman winners, a winning record against Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU, and you have his career of 17 years to do it all. If that's not enough you could try for 76 First Team All Americans or sign a top 5 recruit class 16 of 17 years just like he did, On Heisman of course.

Before Sewanee left the SEC, their biggest rival was Vanderbilt. Becuase they coulndn't schedule the Vanderbilt game in 1899 due to a ticket sharing dispute, they had to play 5 games in 6 days in five different cities across the south just to make up lost revenue. They won all 5 games by shutout. 11 of their 12 games in 1899 were won by shutout. The only team to score against Sewanee was Auburn, who was coached by a young John Heisman.

You should do a rebuild with more classic conferences. I have a setup that I've posted to Twitter in the last few days. If your conference has 10 or 12 teams, you have a round robin with no CCG (even with the MAC). My setup includes the "classic" B10 teams, Nebraska in the B12 along with all of the 4 schools that defected to the SEC.
