Kluivert was amazingly good in good old CM, unfortunately a lot better than irl. He was ok, but never lived up to his performances and potential in Ajax. As a Barca fan I recall the first Galacticos with a proverb "Zidanes y Pavones", which meant they overspent and overfocused on offensive players, while not putting enough attention and money into defense. When they sold Makelele to Chelsea they were cooked. UCL performances were usually terrible. I think they were eliminated before the 1/4 and Lyon was their Aston Villa in Stinger's universe this year :D
