Hey Drae, southern US Logger here. That leased John Deere cutter you got is meant to cut and then lay the trees on the ground, from there something called a skidded comes and drags the stack of cut unprocessed trees out of the woods to the loader (it looks like an 18 wheel with a crane off the back) to be loaded onto a log trailer.

Drae here's a tip for you, you can use a cultivator in a field with hay and it'll be good to farm

If you build the small sale point on your farm you can sell all product at a better price and with no transport. Also woodchip are worth more then wood and you can buy a field take all the trees and sell the field again without losing money.

When you load the semi with mushrooms, put a pallet on the road to stop traffic.

The easiest contracts are fertilizing and liming, especially with huge spread upgrade, then you might want to take harvesting, if they haven't changed anything you can get few tones of grains extra for yourself from these. Also if you borrow things for mission and you have to buy fertilizer or seeds you can unload them at the end, so you will lose only what you used and you will still have the rest for your own use or next contract.

Where do you unload the fertilizer, seeds, etc.? In a pile on the ground or into a silo or something? Also... is there an easy way to get stuff like that off the ground from a pile into a trailer?

​@@american_cosmic if the seeds/fertilizer are in the equipment and you unload them at your farm (or anywhere it gives you the option to [usually it's Ctrl+I]) they will be in the pallets/containers like when you bought them. So after a finished contract you can just drive to your farm, unload and then collect the contract fee

One thing I learned about picking up logs in farm sim is that it's worth the extra time to grab them at the center of gravity. Easier to adjust on the ground than in the air.

Drae, if you are more careful when stacking the logs. You can actually stack about 10 on that trailer. You just have to make sure all of them are straight and have no branches on them. And are mostly the same length.

Hi Drae, I have seen when doing logging contracts if you buy one of the saw mills, you can make all kinds of wood. With that being said, once the wood has been run through the saw mill, you can make an extra $60 plus grand off the contracts. Also, you can use the wood you created through the saw mill to build the temple or other buildings on the farming maps. I hope this information I have shared helps you Drae.

3 starts cruise control, 1 and 2 adjust the speeds of cruise, i believe might make the long hauls easyer on you

Weeding and Hoeing are worth your time, other contracts are hit or miss. You can unload the seeds after completing a sowing contract so you don't have to keep buying more every time.

Fertilizer and seeding or spraying contracts are only worth to do if you have a bunch left over

Contracts only work if you can accept 3 or 4 of the same contract, you lease the equipment for 1 job, and do 3 or 4 with the leased stuff and then you can make 30 or 40K a month. Use that money to finance a solar farm and you never have to worry about money again. 😆

also the 36k sawmill is a great addition to ur farm. load it with logs and make long planks and posts to take to the temple for lots of cash

Tips for contracts 1.I f it's the same style of contract you can use the same equipment on different contracts (EG. Rent 1 mower and do 3 mowing contracts) 2. Contracts are really good money EARLY GAME late game I'd just leave em. 3. You can use workers to do major contracts as passive income

i dunno if the bug is still in FS 25 but a buddy and me made a lot of money in FS 22 by scamming the contractors. we only did jobs with hay. we mowed, we bailed and wrapped all the bails to make silage and then sold it. since the contract wanted hay and not silage we got the money for the silage and could cancel the contract after selling and could keep the money. usually if you cancel a contract the game takes the money you earned back, but for some reason it didnt do it for hay contracts. so we made around 100k per contract. its important to check if its a big field. the bigger the better ;)

Drae, as your equipment maintenance wears down your equipment will lose power or become less effective, if you repair your tractor it will restore power, also fun side note the older the equipment or the more hours it has the equipment will wear down faster

Sometimes using cruise control helps the tractors go faster press 3. When done with contracts like sowing, n fertilizing, unload it so u can get your stuff back

After you have finished a sowing or fertilising contract be sure to unload the equipment at your farm or the store to get your seeds or fertiliser back to use in the next contract. That way you will actually make money from the contracts.

You have to repair your tractors and second hand equipment (depending on the "wear and tear" at the time of purchase), otherwise it'll break down sooner. Repairs become more expensive the longer you leave them. You can also get more money for selling repaired equipment than an "as is" sale.

Drae... for the sowing contracts... you probably dont need that much seeds... so after you are done with the field you can unload the rest of the seeds from the sowing machine and use thet for vour own fields or other jobs
