Yep, for me it was the same. I hit level 100 for couple of days and reached the pit. Then I quickly realized that what is ahead for me is just meaningless endless grind. Aaand that was it. I stopped playing. I don't know I think I just no longer like where the direction of the game is. I think I don't like ARPGs anymore. Or at least those kind of mindless ACTION rpgs where the game is literally flying through the map in a soup of particles and rain of pointless loot.

The main issue with D4, especially when you have seasonal content, is that you need proper leaderboards. Then your efforts are recorded like in D3. So once you do pit 100 the season is over as that is the only progress achievement you get.

​@@thedarkness125 Yes that's the case for sure. It is that all ARPGS became extremely fast-paced and cluttered of particles and loot. The thing is that I am huge fan of Diablo 2, which was no way near as fast-paced as D3 and D4, but I guess if I don't like it, I just stop playing it and stop complaining. I complain, because I really wanted the diablo franchise to head in different direction. Maybe a mixture between diablo 2 and souls-like games. But that is just my take.

I got on after this video and a friend said, "D4 is fun again!" I got on, got carried to lvl 70. Started playing... It was fun, but I fell of basically just as fast as I did at launch after I beat the story. This time I got to 92 because I was carried so late. Glad I found out about project D2, going to try that. I'm done giving Blizzard more money. I am not buying D2R.

D4 has come a long way, I recommend playing hardcore for now if you a seasoned arpg vet. There are no pit leaderboards, so grinding for better gear is pointless if you have done pit 100, which is the only achievement outside of some bosses. Playing hardcore at least adds some excitement until leaderboards are introduced

Same - shoutout to people who can stream and play this game for a long time. Their mental fortitude is insane. I did reach lvl 80+ for several characters just because probably at lvl 80+, your build is already done and no need to chase lvl 100 character and ite,s. The number just goes up and nothing interesting to chase then. I just can't stay awake too because all is see are yellow and white numbers.

Let's be honest. This game will never have proper endgame because of how narrow-minded and incompetent blizzard devs are. You literally grind to get a few masterworking upgrades so you can grind the same fucking pit over and over again. Brilliant!

I had fun this season, but have to agree endgame still feels very shallow, pits would be more fun if there was atleast a leaderboard of some sort and there has to be more added endgame activates, but for me this season I ended up getting like 5 level 100's and a few other characters between 80 and 90ish. I kept wanting to try out new character builds and that was the real motivational force for me, but season 5 is not looking to great and might just stick the Last epoch's new season/cycle coming out on july 9th.

It's getting better, but still as soon as you get into endgame loop it becomes boring pretty fast. Good news is this is fixable. The game needs: - some alternative currency, e.g. runes - some mechanics to make each drop potentially valuable, e.g. runeword bases or unique affixes on magic/rare items - maybe glyph crafting or tempering analog on glyphs idk - make uber uniques drop everywhere in the game, just scope it by player's level and drop chance - please untie build related items (skill and paragon points) from campaign completion (renown), people are forced to skip these dialogues for a whole day to unlock them, put some stupid cosmetics there so completionists may enjoy it, but for people who skip campaign they should be unlocked (58 skill points and 225 paragon points) For now I agree, having an Ist rune drop in D2 feels more fun than any drop in D4. Game feels like you go to job to make the affix on your gloves +5% better, you know exactly what you have to do repetitively to achieve this with no extra fun, fair but boring. In season 17ish Blizzard will fix all this and it will be a fun game :)

@@FrankieFresh They've created a basis framework with a roadmap to improve it within upcoming years and seasons. Valid strategy as you simply cannot put everything in the game at once and still keep seasonal content entertaining. The only problem people nowadays have lots of other things to do and games to play. As I said this strategy will be a W around season 17, but what will be D4 player base then who knows :) Let's see POE2, I am afraid it may also be a rough start as GGG will face same issues as D4 - requirement to deliver good game at the start and be creative enough to deliver fresh content each new league

I liked greater rifts in d3 because they encouraged build diversity and group role-play, something that seems to be actively discouraged in d4. Seriously this season felt good early, but the more you played, the more you realize that they only worked on the items and not the balance. On top of that, they want you to purchase a 50$+ expansion (That imo should have been free? Like what the fuck, the game is starting to maybe have potential and now you want me to pay 50$ bucks for a class no one was asking for?) Ultimately the downfall of D4 will be it's lack of content and true build variety, it's main competitor give you x25 time the amount of content and stuff to do in a league along with new uniques and stuff. (In D4 it feels like they're adding 2-3 unique per season and they are of mediocre quality.) I might revisit D4 in 2 years when all the expansions are out and it's on sale at 80%

Before you talk you should actually know things about the game. It's definitely not 2-3 unqs a season always atleast 1 per class then 2-3 general unqs. There are tons of viable builds in d4. But you are probably like the rest and just want to make the meta builds. Then you talk shit about a class that you have noidea how it will be or play just because irs not what you wanted. Typical gen z that wants everything handed to them

Without leaderboards don't make the mistake of grinding for gear that won't be useful when the season ends. I won't be buying the xpac unless pits or whatever the progress content is has ladders/leaderboards as your efforts won't be recorded.

IDK with a proper build you can run lvl 101 of the pit in 2-3min.... It takes a couple of hours to grind out 1/1 on all your gear at that point.

Wont be preordering expansion either but due to some other lame reason. Thing is I am playing D4 on PC and PS5, and apparently after contacting Blizzard's help line, they told me You have to buy expansion twice in order to be able to play on PC and PS5 (one desired copy for PC and one cheapest one on PS5). I would undestand that if it wasnt that You can buy season pass on either PC on PS5 and it unlocks on both platforms by being digital content. So why expansion is not working same way if its digital content too (does not require buying blu-ray disc to be able to play) ...

I'm realizing again grinding blood maiden over and over how mindlessly unfun the game is. How boring can this more get for devs to put a "get to tier 18 on this random theme board" where the item gear reward is useless and salvaged seconds later. Not even 925 item power to maximize armor. And this is the second or third time already they did this bs. Following this, I get to mindlessly grind nmd over and over to get my glyphs to level 15 just to fulfill their season award objective. Only to immediately salvage that award gear also that's randomly useless. You would think blizz would perhaps add a cool cosmetic once salvaged, maybe a season theme unique, or just a max item power item? Nope. And they're going to keep repeating this bs as I load the game up because I need 6666 fkn cinders. Which means most will either afk or ride the horsey around blood maiden for 10 hours while others do the work. Finally, every time they patch and call it rebalancing means I have to go rebuild any character in past that dropped to eternal realm. My once S2 ball blizz and upheaval barb were great, and now the damage output is nowhere near (minus s2 affix's of course).

Don't stress about gear , you can upgrade no GR to do pit 100s for the achievement. Only when leaderboards are introduced should you care. Then your efforts are recorded.

Yeah, i wouldn't have imagined this season would be the season for you. Diablo 2 had much the same progression and I'm here for it now like I was back then... I understand D4 not being the arpg plenty of people want, but it is shaping up to be the one I've wanted since d3 launched. I'm glad that we have d2r for those that want a more old school grindy experience, d3 for those that want an arcade experience, and D4 for those in the middle. Not to mention the MANY d2 mods. I would disagree that the game is fundamentally the same tho. They abandoned the d2 style grind for gear until your eyes bleed and ignore 95% of drops gameplay and are moving toward crafting your gear and everything being useful. Now if only we could get some fucking social features in this mmo-lite... i swear if they release endgame co-op in the xpac without LFG, I riot.

I’ve played every season but the game just feels hollow. I give up after like a week and a half. Meanwhile I’ve been playing the same 2-3 characters in D2R for 2 years lol. I think (even with the itemization rework), the itemization in Diablo 4 is just boring. Everyone finds the exact same gear as the game funnels items to through these loot explosions. There’s no difference between your level 65 Druid and the level 65 Druid standing next to you. In Diablo 2 everyone is striving for Enigma or grief or what ever but you have to grind for it.. trade for it.. and work for it.

This video is disengenuous. Thats is what happens in every single game with a seasonal reset if you start almost a month into the season. Its also not the first time you wont be preordering an xpac for diablo. We know it. In fact across 4 games its only the second one you could. I started day 1 of the season 4. It just took me a month to hit level 100. Like I said I only lasted maybe 30minutes every time I logged in which wasn’t often. About pre-ordering anything related to d4 that isn’t a false statement. I no longer believe in the company anymore. I need to see the game in action after release. Like the video said I did everything this game had to offer. What you don’t see in this video is that I played the closed beta for over a week a year ago. I made my own build guides for each class, and I played season 1 and 2 not following anything. I’ve made d4 content in the past… I’m friends with many big d4 creators and they share the same feeling about the game. They just aren’t open about it publicly, I mean why would they when they are printing views from content.

I see your point there, i believe the highest nm dungeon that I did was 84 or 88. It just showed the grind from 75 to 100. Don’t you think the game should be at least a little difficult on the way up to 100? I get the point of digging all the way to the bottom until monsters health bars are so high that you can no longer push… I’ve been there and done that with Diablo 3. The fact is the games numbers are so screwed up that the developers are in a debacle. Look at the PTR right now for season 5. The game is in shambles. It’s basically a re skin of Diablo 3 that was built from the top down.
