I have been sending funds to my family since I was 17 years old for 27 years in the UK with my whole family back home. I was only 14 years old when I relocated and had to quickly become responsible for everyone. In the process, my whole family turned against me saying I didn't give enough. I prayed some much for them all to come. They all migrated 2 years now with all their families and they have seen it now. They have started complaining already and I'm tone-deaf. They hurt me so much including my parents. I’m still processing my healing. I have learned to share my wins with my husband and kids and a few close friends in the UK. I don't need any accolades from an extended family and I have also learn to choose who I am Kind to. Family isn't everything like they say and blood isn't thicker than water. My view 😢

It's hurts when they don't understand. Good a thing you have brought 90% of them over. I hope they're packing the pounds enough now and should stop complaining lol. It's well sis

Yes I see that ,some relax with what we send while we work day and night to survive and back in Nigeria they not all some are chilling

Very true because people back home thinks there is river of money flowing in the diaspora,so all they know is you are rich once you are out of the country.

I have completely cut off almost all my extended family members and friends back in Naija because of money demands,they are like vampires,I have realized that once anyone from naija relocates abroad from an average to low income background you are no longer part of their tribe,you will be treated like an outcast and an ATM machine,they will never love you again,your relationship will become transactional,these will be very difficult to accept but it’s a sad reality so the better you accept that you are no longer part of them the better for you,their entitlement mentality back home is toxic.

Unfortunately I’m agree with you , but that’s for all people that have families living outside their home country. Nobody cares if you are ok they just want the money .

African with entitlement mentality, I completely understand this situation because I have been there. My advice never take advice from anyone back home even parents, because they don’t understand the lifestyle and the annoying thing is they milk you.

Send phone to airport and then when it gets missing you will be blamed. Someone even said to me, you can pick the mobile from trash abroad 😅
@ChySpace12 күн бұрын
The person should come pick the phones on the streets by himself.

I sent a cousin to nursing school. Sent money to educate her children. She responded by sending arrows of infirmity to my family. Africans have to ask God to cleanse our hearts first.

Even on Social media, stop sharing your achievements. Everyone is watching including your family. Limit sharing your achievements on social media: WhatsApp status, Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram and so on.
