Project Shasta looks awfully like Desript, did they buy them up?

Very true

Hi Mike, I don't usually reveal it since I learned it from you, but Descript studio sound feature would do a great job for this particular piece of audio at around 85% and then re-importing it to Adobe audition and using parametric EQ and multi band compressor with the preset called broadcast. Try that. I have stopped using Noise reduction process after you introduced me with Waves NS1 noise suppressor which does better job than NR processing, it just pulls all the noise and retains the voice in any audio file I have used until now.

Great video! I've been remastering old radio shows and am glad that I'm not too far off in my techniques that you demonstrate. What I'm dealing with is digitized radio broadcasts that have a lot of glitches and loud, random pops from the original broadcast signals that didn't digitize right. Can you do a video focusing on smoothing out that kind of broad-frequency squeals and glitches in dialogue without sacrificing too much of the spoken words? Thanks for showcasing your methods!

The technique is the same, it's just fine tuning that's needed

Mike, what's the point of cowboying whizz moves in Adobe Audition when you have plugins like Clarity VX Pro from Waves and the ERA plugins that would certainly improve the audio sample from Churchill....?

Definitely put in a request for access to Shasta after hearing that 👀

haha, I remember I have to get a snippet from Martin Luther King's speech and the source is KZbin Video. I cannot get rid of scratchy and the sound of static wire. I end up looking for another resource and I am lucky to find one that was clean already :). Also, luckily it is an open-source, and no worries about copyright issues :) I don't think AI can replace you, us humans. There is always room for error in using AI, but is a great help for us, it will cut our editing time in helf. :)

The digital artefacts are still a pain. Is that something one can remove? Maybe have the AI process your remastered audio.
@MikeRussell Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use AI powered tools like noise reduction and audio restoration software to further reduce digital artifacts in the remastered audio.

You won't be out of a job anytime soon. Overall, the AI voice was easier to understand. Primary because it suppressed the ess's. However, the voice sounded closer to mechanical than Churchill. So, AI will probably always be AI .It's still a machine. That learns from us. {:>)

Machine learning is always learning and artificial intelligence will only get more clever as it continues to develop

@@MikeRussell I agree it will only improve, but AI cannot discern what it's done. I don't see believe anyone will ever teach a machine how to hear,analyze and rationalize like a human. AI can do some some impressive things, it's over rated as well. IMO {:>)

@@MikeRussell Yes, one day the technology is bound to be nearly perfect.

The Shasta result quite surprised me, gotta admit...
@jrbcjim2 жыл бұрын
The speech was certainly clearer and easier to understand, but the processing sucked all the life out of it. It's sounded like a computer voice doing a VO read.

Hey mike can you teach us how to get a mid Atlantic accent
@MikeRussell2 жыл бұрын
If you'd like a voiceover with a mid Atlantic accent then I'd suggest using a voiceover artist who has that accent.
@thegamerboi77322 жыл бұрын
No i meant a filter for a mid Atlantic accent
@MikeRussell2 жыл бұрын
You can't change an accent by filter I'm afraid.
