What a lovely and very talented couple! I love this John Prine song, but knowing that he died before it was released makes me sad. I cry every time I watch this video, not just because of the sadness, but because of the beautiful performance. The blending of the voices gets me every time. The guitar work is excellent. These two young musicians are a treasure. I'd like to wrap them both in a big hug.

I particularly likes His descant above Hers melody. I didn't expect a tenor voice and control - excellent. Hers does a really good tribute alone but the mix is something that John would have liked - I believe. I believe in John Prine's music. RIP His and Hers, keep on going and give us more.

Covers are a way for a musician to make the song 'theirs'. Anyone can copycat but there's no skill in that.

Gotta remember though that some of JP's most commercially successful compositions were those covered by other artists , Angel from Montgomery , Speed of the sound of loneliness, Sam Stone , that's the way the world goes 'round. Much of his wealth was from covers by other artists.

That was his gift to us. His songs were tailor made for us to cover. We don't do covers because we can improve on the song. We do them because the song moves us. You KNOW he liked hearing other people do his tunes. I've been covering them for years and I so miss him right now!! This cover was very nicely done! Great vocals!
