yea they need to change zephyrs to check the deck before the game starts to see if it is highlander , the same way that Odd/Even deck mechanic checked before the game started to see if your deck was actually odd/Even to get the upgrade …. i just don't think having access to tons of draw is the same as building a highlander deck as building your deck highlander is "supposed" to be a negative to the decks strength of consistency …. where as having tons of cheap efficient draw to get to a combo and zephyrs and dragonqueen alex isn't the same and i would argue that having that much draw and doubles makes your deck a little too consistent to be allowed to use any highlander cards..... or make Zephyrs only use cards available to the class you are using and TBH this would solve all my issues with the card as i really don't think its right that everytime i am ahead on board against most decks like these highlander rouge who remember blizzard said o no rouge cant have a board clear that is so strong with all there tempo tools so they moved vanish over to the hall of fame yet these highlander rouges can lose board play zephyrs , shadowstep zephyrs and twisting nether and have zephyrs rdy just incase they lose board again , im sorry but that's bullshit and goes double for every class that usues zephyrs and has AOE board clears , llke priest its so damn hard to even play midranged or minions in general anymore against highlander priest or just a late gme priest that will add zephyrs just as a late game hailmary

It'd be fine if Zephiris didn't exist. Having Jaraxxus only die against Warlock and having them need to actually put it in their deck was pretty acceptable, they had a dead card in most matchups to tech for your Jaraxxus play. But Zeph makes it basically a neutral card.

@@Satherian No it's not. It's a bad card that people just didn't play anyway. Sacrificing a deck slot for a class card that MAY win you the game against ONE CLASS is just a very bad idea. Jaraxus was great for a long time, seing top level play and tournament play, because people actually putting that card in their deck was a terrible idea. He only stopped seeing play because bloodreaver had a bigger effect and now that it rotated out, there's still Zeph, that is a neutral card that is NOT a dead card that also one shots it. Zeph giving you sac pact when jaraxus is in play is the only way you'll ever see this interaction atm, and is why it's a problem.

It probably just takes too many resources to bring out for not a big enough payoff. His board wipe normally doesnt matter when your playing him cause the best way to bring him out is aoe in the first place, so your basically jumping through hoops to bring out decently big vanilla stats, which just doesnt really cut it. He can occassionally close out a game if you get him early enough and everything lines up but a lot of other times hes just dead weight.

This sort of goes to prove why Zephrys is a bit of a problem card from a design perspective. You can't include amusing little easter egg interactions like Sac Pac destroying Jaraxxus anymore because Zephrys turns what would otherwise have been a very niche situation that only included for a bit of a laugh into a 100% viable and repeatable strategy that requires no sacrifice or drawback to carry out. In it's original incarnation this interaction was fine because the following things held it in check: 1- You had to be in a Walock vs. Warlock match up (Priest and Rogue can also obtain Sac Pac but that's largely down to RNG rather than anything reliable) 2- You needed to include at least one copy of Sacrificial Pact in your deck (an inherently limited card given it's only use is either in Warlock mirror matches, a select few legendaries or against your own minions) 3- You need to hold onto a 0 mana spell for long enough for the game to have not only reached the 10 mana stage but also for someone to have elected to play Jaraxxus (a class specific legendary that tends to be used as a last resort card when at low health) As you can see, that is a VERY specific set of circumstances that need to occur in order for this interaction to be anything approaching practical (hence it's inclusion as a bit of a joke technicality) but Zephrys bypasses all of that planning and generates you an automatic 'I win' button with literally no downside (not blocked by taunt, costs 0 mana, doesn't care about enemy health or armour). As you can see, this isn't a problem with Sacrifical Pact or even the original interaction it had with Jaraxxus but with the way Zephrys removes a lot of the difficulty in pulling it off and I think it's long since time the card got something of a nerf (maybe something like changing the text to 'draw the perfect card from your deck' so that it still relies on you actually having some good answers ahead of time rather than being a complete get out of jail free card).

Problem with Magtheridon is a good portion of the time, the opponent can just not play anything and hit you for ~3 damage. If you try to build a board they'll just trade, let Magtheridon wipe your board out, and build afterwards.

Magtheridon is the ultimate warrior card. Mag and brawl = guaranteed board clear and a 12/12 Mag in warlock is good with hellfire or that dragon that deals three to the board. It’s not a turn 4 card, it’s a late game card with a low mana cost.

I play Magtheridon in Demon Hunter and it actually helped me win quite a bunch of games turn 5 12/12 is not something most other demon hunters can deal with and it’s good against Dragon Queen Alextraza which a Demon Hunter typically can’t deal with. Also people just panic and miss play when they see it 👀. It is a double card combo though and the 9 mana taunt does sometimes pull it out but I am actually quite pleased with it.

Magtheridon's only bad because you're not using it in the right kind of deck; I've been getting a ton of success with him in quest warlock with discard. If you do it right, you can end up with a double board clear on turn 4, with a 12/12 your opponent has to spend all their mana trying to kill, leaving you to freely put the portal up next turn to continually pressure your opponent. Used correctly, Magtheridon fills a very useful bridge point in progression from early game to mid/late game. Just remember to use Discard/Quest lock instead of other metas.

Imo they shouldnt patch out Jaraxxus+SacPact. Just patch in that Zephrys cant give you SacPact when either hero is Jaraxxus. Cause Zephrys is the issue not SacPact
