@@emilwandel Uh, I snuck out of the house all the time as soon as I could reach the doorknob, and I had a happy home life. It's just that the neighbors had big fish tanks, or another neighbor had a box of puppies in their garage, or there was a thunderstorm and I wanted to jump in the puddles. Seriously, everyone in the neighborhood had my parents' phone number so they could call when I showed up.

I think we definitly should be able to at least add some trees to the world around the lots what if you want to make a house surounded by trees? it's just gonna look weird when all the trees are right next to your house and not around the lot I get why modifiying the terrain could be very buggy but at least landscaping should be added

And I thought of the dugouts in Coober Pedy in the middle of Australia. Most houses are underground there, because temperatures can get pretty extreme on the surface but the dugouts stay at a constant 24°C all year.

I like both maxis builds and cc builds. I like seeing the cc in actual builds, it helps me in my own builds to figure out how it works in game. Love your builds, you inspire me to build outside my usual style. 😺💕

The way I get around making underground lots look like they get natural light is I build a little room behind the actual rooms add lots of lighting or remove the ceiling or use glass floor so light gets in. Sometimes I make an outer room and fill it with little trees and grass flooring and sky like wallpaper so it looks like it's outside. Or make a pool surrounding the room so it looks like it's underwater.

Oh, I sooo agree on the shelving issue in the Sims! Only a handful of items ever really fit the shelves and I'm always stuck with the same things all the time. I wish they did something with that bc there are items that could feinitely fit but they don't! Also, that Dine Out painting is one of my favs as well

There’s a channel Local Project that seems to be all in Australia and they have some incredible modern homes they show and some I’ve tried to recreate but it’s so hard when we can’t lift the “basement” to have windows and stairs don’t like to work right to a certain extent when doing lower levels from an above platform or ground floor

I think this build was great! The idea of an underground house never crossed my mind, and the fact that looks pretty good from the outside just encourages me to try building one! I loved how you blended the roofs and it wasn't just a flat surface above the house - I'm really impressed! Keep it up

I love to see you use cc. The paintings in the dining are my fav to use there too, and I also often use a a round rug that has fruits in a circel when you go to the purple swatch. It's not cc, but I can't remember if it's basegame or not. Love the build!

I had an underground home for one of my sims in Stranger Ville. I loved to play in this house. I had a lot of plants in it and a ton of windows to channel the light inside from above. I kinda wish I could have a house like this.

I love the courtyard. I really LOVE doing underground homes especially on small lots so the sims can maximize gardens.. I usually put a pond or pool on at least one side... sometimes all sides and put in giant windows. It lets in light and you can add things in the pond (even fish!) to give the Sims a nice view.... but it's still private as other sims can't see in really ... unless they went swimming!

I love this! I would definitely download and play in this. I've made underground houses a few times, usually with a survival type of vibe. It's like an underground bunker and I always put super paranoid sims in them 🤣

I don't know if it's been mentionned but what I like to do in underground builds is fake exteriors. As in I'll build a bedroom with a window and behind the window I'll make a 1 by 4 room and fill it with plants, paint the walls blue, put grass on the floors, etc. I've also build a Batuu themed underground living room, and instead of windows, I put arches, and created a 2 tiles wide corridor all around and filled it with plants and objects, I also use Jungle adventure wall plants. It's not an area where you can walk in, but it looks really cool. You can then remove the ceiling for a more natural feel or keep it to have a dystopian vibe.

I think the amount in this one was okay. Just a little here and there and easily replaceable like some clutter or window, not like a whole room. :)

I love this house and I will use it. When you live in a place that had 11 tornados in one night and spent an entire morning in a storage room at your school kneeling down with your forehead against the floor and your hands covering your head, only to head back to class in time to see the tornado flying overhead backdropped by a blue sky, you seriously consider an underground house. I would love to do that here when we build the new house but our watertable is too high. Need to drop a well? You don't need a diviner you just need to start digging. three feet down and you hit water.

Love the build Deli, but I gotta say, if I was anyone, specially a kid, I would hate having to go through the patio to go to the bathroom. Personally I like the light colors, its very relaxing. and I like all the outdoor spaces available, even more how many windows there are and because its underground you don't have to worry about privacy.

Ah I've done this! When I had my sims buy a vet, I hated that I couldn't make it my Sims full time profession because they'd eventually go home. So I built and underground "flat" so that whilst I'm playing that household, I can just keep them there 😂😅
