Very cool! I would be interested in seeing more about your playing card divination system

Those videos about pocket notebooks have inspired me to write in a pocket Travelers notebook as well. I like to have this little book with me wherever I go.

Yes! I found I was journaling more, taking a field journal with me everywhere, and it made me more creative in my writing. I like the passport size. I’m going to keep this in mind as I keep switching up the journals I buy. I’m very interested in a playing card video! I love Kaweco pens! It’s my plan to film a journal/planner/pen video soon, although some of the things I’ve been using I’m planning on cutting out because like you, I’m beginning to find it distracting and overwhelming.

Yay, seems like we're into similar things :) I'll be on the lookout for your vid about journals!

Love this video, thank you for sharing :-) Would love to see the video about playing cards, I'm currently use Roger J. Horne book, together with Fifty-four Devils: The Art & Folklore of Fortune-telling with Playing Cards. Diving into local folklore of playing cards meaning too.

I also keep a pocket notebook for notes, ideas, mini journaling sessions. I have wanted a pocket travelers notebook for some time, but haven't gotten one yet...I usually use field notes or mini composition books. Thanks for sharing ❤

I cannot BELIEVE this synchronicity - well, actually I do and it's awesome! xD I've been watching videos with similar titles for the last 2 weeks or so! :D Around 2 weeks ago I started carrying a A6 Interdruk little notebook with me at all times. It fits in the pocket of my blouse (the next one will be smaller though, this one is a tiny bit too big). I started to do that to free my brain from thinking about things I need to do. I write them down the moment I remember them, so later I can come back to them and e.g. make sure my son won't be hungry at school bc his mother forgot to pay for his lunches ;D Those things I write at the beginning of the notebook and starting from the middle of the notebook I write stuff that's on my mind when I get nervous and normally would reach for my phone. I also started to pull one card from an oracle deck before bed and write down a couple sentences about it in this notebook. I find that it makes me calmer before sleep. So far so good! I think it is good for me and I've already bought a couple of A7 notebooks, not sure if these won't be too small though xD They will be good for to do lists, but not sure if they will be good for thought dumping. Loved your ideas! The watercolor paper at the end is amazing! I should learn to sew little notebooks too!

Hahahah, this is hilarious!! But I'm not surprised either, we've vibing around the same topics all the time :) This is so cool, I love the system you cam e up with for yourself! I think you might actually enjoy the Traveler's Notebook system cause you can have a separate little insert for each of those things you mentioned you use the notebooks for :) If you ever wanna learn how to sew little notebooks let me know and I'll recommend some tutorials.

No way! We are on the same wavelength. I'm doing a similar thing with social media and notebooks. BTW, about playing cards: the way I was taught/learned to read playing cards when I was a kid was to take a cheap deck of playing cards and write the meanings on each card. In case you really wanna go even more analog/old school. 😁

Hahahah, I love how we're often on the same wavelength with this stuff! :) Oh, I also made a deck like that with writing meanings on a cheap playing card deck and it's a great aid for learning but I'm finding that the meanings of the systems I've tried so far aren't fully working for my reading style. It's very strange but sometimes I will literally get cards that indicate the reverse of what should come up (for example if I'm veryfying something that I know the answer to), so I'm still in the process of creating my own system that would be reliable in terms of meanings.

@@polishfolkwitch With playing cards there are two main things: correspondences for the suits and numerology - not just the meaning of the numbers but also noting the ascent/descent of the numbers in relation to each other in the spread. If you get that down, the courts are pretty straightforward. I learned on playing cards first and feel that if I had started with Tarot, I often wonder whether it would have been trickier for me to then learn playing cards. I learned to read Tarot after reading playing cards for 10 years and thus I brought that knowledge to and combined it with Tarot. I am not a purist, all I care is that it makes sense to me and the readings are accurate.
@polishfolkwitch6 ай бұрын
@@MaryGraceFahrun Yeah, it seems to be similar to Tarot de Marseille in terms of numerology and the succession of numbers in a reading. Problem is, out of the 4 playing card books I have, each author introdues different numerological meanings which basically changes the entire system, and comparing these systems to each other some cards end up having opposite meanings which is hilarious 😂 I wish I could go for traditional Polish systems instead but they don't use the entire deck but only 32 or even 24 cards, which I'm not a fan of cause I'd rather reach for Lenormand if I wanted less. So yeah, still figuring out which numerological meanings for the pips work for me cause it's so confusing when you compare systems 😂
@MaryGraceFahrun6 ай бұрын
@@polishfolkwitch I learned the system where we only use 32 playing cards. I have the meanings up on my website. I will text you the link. Just to add to the "soup" of information you already have, lol.
