That looks amazing. Never would have thought it was the same trailer. Once thing I would have done differently on the barn door latches…. I would have put a captured spring on the handle and then a small piece of L metal on the top of the door. The door keeps the handle wanting to go up, so when you shut it and lock it, you press down to go under the Metal and then when you let go it springs up to be trapped in the L metal. No chains needed. When it’s time to open. You grab the handle, pull down and rotate it out and then up and door opens. Hard to explain in text. You can see what I mean by the spring latch by searching for that. As for the L metal top, it would just have a fixed piece of metal on the gate the latch would rotate under and out of. When the spring latch is not pressed down, it would be pressing against the metal keeping it fixed in the closed position. Only way to open would be to push down on the latch 2-3 inches and rotate it out like normal.

Don't ever not use your respirator. Better to always be on the safe side than get overcome with cancer. My brother-in-law, which was one of the best welders in Texas, died of cancer due to breathing the toxic smoke. I am a retired fire fighter and with all our PPE, it still happens. You should get a set of bearing buddies for the hubs they are sweet
@motor2of7Ай бұрын

@mwilliamshsАй бұрын
Those appear to be EZ-Lube axles. They don't need bearing buddies as they already have grease fittings built-in.

Out of curiosity whats the weight rating on those axles?
@MakeEverythingАй бұрын
@@jakemartin6200 they are 5k axles and the total gvwr is 10k for the trailer. The dump mechanism is rated for 7k inside. Given its small size it would be hard to fit 7k of anything in it! Most dumps I’ve done with it are 2000-3000lbs max

Unfortunately once the wood boards start moving and sagging it’s going to be really difficult to align the closing pin for the upper doors a metal stand would be better to hold the doors hinges

@douglasthompson2740Ай бұрын
I like Rusty Metal Primer from Rustoleum as well but they really need to do something about their quality control or lack thereof. I like to keep four or five cans on hand for jobs as they come up and the failure to hold a charge on new cans runs about thirty per cent! Then there is the clogging issue on partially used cans. Added to that the disappearance of propellant half way through using a can, or when a partially used can is put back on the shelf. And yes, I shake the cans quite well and give them a clearance spray before I shelve them. It gets very frustrating and slows the work flow a lot. Just unacceptable. For a while they changed top caps and that seemed to help for a brief second. It would seem as long as they have been in business they could get the packaging and delivery of their product down, but they don't seem to have a clue. In total I am throwing away forty to fifty percent of their product!! This isn't a recent phenomenon either, more like a couple of decades old! Time their executives actually got out in the field and talked to their customers even if it means getting a little dust on their pretty suits.
