Remember going on a few 4WDing trips in Australia when I was younger. With all of us 14-17 year olds sitting in the back looking at each other and the noise of the engine - we felt like we were in the helicopter at the start of Predator or a Vietnam war movie!

Awesome video. I'm restoring an FJ60 now. I freaked out when I saw my rust, but looked totally unfazed when taking up your carpet.😅

To me you used the JB weld to make it more like seam sealer. That way you don't have to drill holes and use fasteners that tend to RUST anyway.
@marchenning50375 ай бұрын
Had to smile to myself when you said ultra rare where here in south Africa they are everywhere on our little piece of farm road I can think of about 6 that are still on the road and quite a few that aren't road worthy but are field vehicles
@1one3_Racing5 ай бұрын
Yeah. Never thought I'd see anyone get excited about a ditty old troop carrier. On the Northern Territory you can see one every hundred kilometres or so rolled in the drain on the side of the road.

And to think I was gonna roast u for not replicating the ribs! JB weld is good for many things but this was unexpected… but I’m a fan of just getting these beauties back in the road! Kudos

I saw the title “ultra rare” and I was like: why? It’s a troopy they’re everywhere and that one it’s the most basic of them all with the black grill and bumper. The only option it has its the lockers for the axles. Then I realize it’s in North America so I guess, yes, it is kinda rare.

You said it right, in Australia... Have you ever seen a VW Gol? They are very common here in Uruguay. It's the same, my friend
@EXZACHTPERFORMANCE6 ай бұрын
@@samuelfoote9135 I'd take a yank turbo diesel pickup over a troopy any day same with Nissan patrol, are so poorly rated from factory everything needs to be modified and re-engineered costing 10s of thousands, and pretty gutless with a few ton behind them and if you get around that they drain your wallet as you drive, big Cummins etc barely notice the weight as far as fuel economy goes.
@patrickKitambo2 ай бұрын
Can you help me import them in my country?
@EXZACHTPERFORMANCE2 ай бұрын
@@patrickKitambo potentially, I could inspect, collect and deliver to port but would need detailed expectations for the condition of the vehicle etc. payment would need to be done through PayPal for services etc. figure out exactly how feasible it is in your country, have a look at the market here and let me know if you are still interested.
@troopyinafrica3 күн бұрын
It is a beautiful Troopy. I am concerned about the tyres. All the Troopys we have here I haven’t heard of 295’s and the offset with those rims will be a bit sketchy. Mate of mine’s Troopy lost his wheel under load with offsets. You have moved centre of gravity out and now rely a lot on the strength of the studs 🙈

So, by your logic, a Tacoma is super rare because they don't sell it in Australia or because I've never seen one? and I've been all over Europe, Asia and Australia and still never seen one. Jaguar XKS, now that is an Ultra rare car. KZbin "Troopy Build", there are thousands of videos on them. Just because there not in America, doesn't mean they are rare. @@StaredownGames
@StaredownGames5 ай бұрын
@@BigFellaGames I see where you are coming from. It is technically not rare, but to him, it is, in the same way as your Tacoma is to you. Also, you can't count KZbin, hell a McLaren is basically a Camry at that point. There are countless Tacoma videos as well. Sugar gliders too, and I went twenty years of my life without ever knowing they existed. lol

@StaredownGames5 ай бұрын
@@BigFellaGames ha, I despise it! I give channels 3 clickbaits and then I unsub/disregard. BUILT has 1 and I've been watching since MR2. I don't think this warrants another because it is rare to him and definitely me. That said, you are absolutely allowed to consider this clickbait and swear off BUILT forever. We choose what we watch.

Rare? I could ship you hundreds of these damned things from police auctions. At a guess I'd say combined Australian police has around 4000 of these and they buy new ones every 5 years or so.

arrrrgh ... i do not know why - it must be my inner german - but it bothers me. THIS is not a 70. This is an early troop carrier (up to '99) - so it is a 75! And with that 24 valve badge on the back it is probably a FZJ75.
