Fun fact, the silver Game Boy Advance SP and Pokémon Ruby were my first personal handheld console setup at 6 years old in 2004. I can still decently remember the day my parents surprised me with it, I was ecstatic. This made me so happy man, Ive also binged all the other console videos too. This is what I call fighting the good fight for childhood nostalgia

just saying, having it being broken in half does not affect it turning on and off as the ribbon cable seemed to be fine and plus the top half could be completely broken and the system would still turn on and off as the motherboard is all that is needed to be working for the system to power on and charge. Only the hinge was affected by it being broken in half. Not I get this is most likely a joke and I am being a stick in the mud and there are gonna be 20 replies to this comment saying "r/woosh" but I just wanted to put this out there. Good day

Backlights were a real game changer to handhelds. Li-ion batteries that were chargeable in situ were great as well.

Yes! I had an original Game Boy and loved it but it was annoying playing at night. I know they came out with a light attachment for it but my folks said no because they knew I’d playing when I was supposed to be sleeping. They were probably right… 🤣

And she's sitting snug in her BFGB adapter thing that has both built-in front lights, magnifying screen to see those pixels better, and speaker for hearing all those beeps and boops from my GB games. (Sadly the dock is missing the front panel that goes over the GB's buttons)

You can’t restore objects with deep scratches, there’s just no way to polish it without ruining it

@@darealduck6945 Sure it's possible. You can fill in these places. What is broken can be repaired with plastic glue, this melts the plastic back together. Of course, it's a lot more work. In addition, the entire shell has to be repainted later.

I always love these. It feels so much like nostalgic love. These things are broken, unwanted. They nonetheless contain so many memories. Love at the stickers! Even if we know nothing, we know the owner loved pokemon, clearly loved this machine. And you make it work again, make it like new. Ready for new memories. That feels like a kindness to me, a kind of love I can’t name.

Man...so much nostalgia. The Gameboy Advanced SP was my #1 favorite handheld console back in the day. Sonic Advanced 1, 2, 3, and Sonic Battle, were my most played games. I even used to have the Sonic X episodes back when movies/TV being released as cartridges.

Oh dear, just looking at the state this Gameboy was in hurt my heart! I had a red Gameboy Advance SP growing up. I always appreciate seeing the lengths you go to in order to fix these broken systems. You make the work look fun, but I'm sure it's super meticulous. I envy your tinkering skills; I'd never be confident enough to take something apart and know how to put it back together. I would LOVE to see a DS Lite restoration. Especially if it is one of the lighter colors (ice blue, white, coral pink), because the plastic used for those colors tend to yellow over time. I am curious if your retrobright technique will be effective. I'm super picky about restoring old consoles and your videos provide the most satisfying transformations out there!

When I was little I remember that everyone had this except me, because my parents didn't spontaneously get me videogames. Then, when I was around 7 I asked for a Nintendo DS and It will always be my favorite console. Hopefully one day you'll get to restore one!

@Anonim Kişi I think it depends on the type of person you are. I've never had gaming problems because I find it easy to quit if I have to do something else. If you organize yourself you'll be able to deal with it no problem

I remember when the SP was new. I was 4 when my brother got his and I got his Advanced as a hand me down. We still have them both, and they still work good as new. Don't use them much cus emulation exists, but it's fun to go back and play on the actual hardware every now and then.
