Bungie are the only ones working on the game and because of that they've been changing the game without any second opinion from another bigger company. So thats why we got op auto rifles that other guns really hardly can't compete with and why being able to switch over other class armor to improve other characters is impossible, its because Bungie and activision had feuds over specific changes and implements to the game. Bungie didn't like half the things activision recommended to improve their general ideas and bc of this bungie has been riding the improvement of the game solo and ultimately failing while list assuming that their poor quality of content they give out to their community is worth just as much as the quality activision helped bring to the game. So no d2 still had alot of improvements to have done and its one of the only few games Ik of that only has one company maintaining and improving it.

The maintenance for trials is legit just setting it up each weekend for players to join and D1 had randomized drops when reaching certain wins in trials so it wasn't hard to maintain compared to what it is in D2. On top of that the fact is that in order to kill D1 to get players to play D2 the developers literally had to kill the one thing players were still playing D1 for which was trials. So they eventually removed it, you're partially right, but i feel the bigger part was truly to kill D1 off to get players to come to D2 since the player base wasn't what it could be because of D1 trials. I was still playing D1 trials here and there until they removed it. So just understand if that was the real reason they likely would have suspected that way before it was removed. Just being honest tho.

Im currently writing a video essay on destiny 1 so it was nice to see this! It just invokes so many feelings in me as a game, that whole "Waiting for your destiny raid team to get online while slowly falling asleep on a quiet 2014 night" video really hits me in my core and makes a bit of a lump form in my throat as I think back on the good old days, all those party chats with friends and strangers and strangers who became friends, the amazing feeling of every fireteam member performing their job perfectly in the final boss, that sound of loot popping on your screen, flying to the lighthouse after a successful trials run etc. I really miss it, and I hope that one day there will be another game provides the same experience.

With D2, although I did play it a crap ton when it first came out, now I hop on it like every other weekend. It makes me sad. @@natedawg1403 imo Destiny 1 had some serious issues, and the DLC system is one of them. In between expansions there would be 1-3 updates, some of them only changing a certain game mode. The quests were incredibly grindy (look at the exotic swords) and it was extremely expensive to get anything out of collections. Not to mention that a large majority of exotic armor and weapons were horrible, compared to D2 where you can do normal content with literally any exotic. The leveling system of D1 with motes of light was also horrendous and at many times weapons would be useless without being max level. Obtaining the motes was also a pain if you were to run out. Not to mention how horrible the crucible's balance was. Remember one shot stickies? Matador and Felwinters? Destiny 2 has had some shitty metas but none even compare to D1

It never felt like nostalgia because o never stopped playing until a couple months ago where I finally made the transition to D2, D1 is still as popular on console as it was when D2 came out too which is really cool to see. The community survived and thrives even to this very day.

Tlaloc was my jam for Destiny 1. It was fast enough to take the spot of a slow pulse or really slow auto, and allowed you to use other loadouts.

I know it seems insignificant,but the most infuriating thing we lost from Destiny 1 was honestly the shaders...they were so good! Especially near the end when we could use them on all exotics that before we couldn't. Crotas End,The Prison of Elders and The Taken King Raid. I remember the first day I played it, running around The Cosmodrome discovering a random hallway and a set of stairs. It was dark,yet inviting,I went down and my ghost lid the way...it was terrifying,yet exiting. I peered in and was met with a hive knight with red ????? over his head,and i just turned around and ran away,ill never have this feeling in another game ever again...

After watching this video I played destiny 1 for the first time since like year 2 of destiny 2 and I saw my old load out: my no land beyond, the crappy sidearm I used, and my lmg. For the first time in a long time I played prison of elders and patrolled the drednaught (my favorite place to patrol and explore.) I played a strike and just messed around on the game with my friends that I still play destiny 2 with to this day. Of course I avoided going to the temple because I have bad memories of trying to climb felwinter but we’re going to move on from that. We did all the old glitches in the tower and overall just had a fun time running around using the old exotics and doing patrols and I wanted to say thank you for reminding me of this masterpiece of a game, and bringing me and possibly others back to the memories we made while playing this game with friends
