I just got my first snowmobile a 2005 Yamaha RS venture with the 1000cc triple, it only has 614 miles I got it for 500 bucks it's basically brand new but it was sitting for eight years so it needed some work. Hoping we get some good snow this season so I can rip it

...funny, I live in eastern Ontario and I go out on mine all the time! It's exactly the same as this machine, right down to the graphics! And what I see, now that the 1000 cc Genesis engine has been out there for 15 years, are RX1's with 20,000 + k on them...Know what I don't see? Anything 2 stroke with 20,000 + k, because you can only rebuild them so many times...

I didn't have to watch the video but saw him say this one goes 130-140 mph but assumed it was stock. Maybe it's turbo so will watch later as stock they only go maybe 110-115 I'm pretty sure.

It looks like you have an apex skid in the snowmobile. Not sure why anyone would replace the 2005 rx1 skid with an apex skid because they are essentially the same except for the skid frame.

Not by today's standards of 180 hp turbos but back then yes that was top end horsepower numbers and only the 1000 cc 2 stroke twins had more at 175 hp in the 1000 cc twin MachZ and Cat's 1000 cc twin. RX-1's were 140 hp like the 800HO's but less than the 800R's 150 hp. Now not turbo 850 2 stroke twins are 165 hp and way lighter but nothing beats the sound and smoothness of the RX-1/Apex sleds (Apex was 150 hp at least in some years and maybe even 160 hp with EXUP near the end but not sure about that).

To everyone that thinks their two stroke is “the best in the hole world” they are light but good luck with the rebuilds every 2-5k I know the old Yamaha 700 STX will go a while without a rebuild but still it will cost you more to run your pretty two strokes then my boat of a 4 stoke, who knows he probably just rides trails, those rx1s are mint on the trail, it doesn’t matter “how fast it goes” that’s just asking to get killed no need to go over 100mph
