Thanks for sharing your journey! It gives me hope for my motorcycle 🏍️ journey. I'm 48 yrs old and just got my first bike in October and it's a 2024 MT03. So hearing your journey makes me have hope for my future. I have put on 1420 miles so far. I am absolutely loving riding around. I, like you, don't ever want to go joyriding in any of my cars/trucks/vans. But I feel like that EVERY time I ride. I actually have to fight the urge. The smells are one thing that surprised me and the attention from boys that are in awe of bike. It's a great joy for all the time I get to be on a motorcycle. I hope to put on as many miles as you have. Questions, how long did it take you to get to 10,000? What are the top 5 or so things I should be practicing the most? Almost every time I ride I got to a parking lot and spend about 10 mins doing U-turns and my emergency braking. I am now also practicing turning in a circle and trying to get used to leaning more. Look forward to seeing more videos.

It's great that you've picked up a MT-03! And thank you for the questions and kind words! - How long did 10k take? I got the bike in May so about 7 Months. - Top 5 things to practice? 1. I would say the absolute most important thing is emergency braking. Great to hear you're already on this and slow-speed maneuvers! Get a feel for and practice SMOOTHLY yet quickly applying your brakes for an emergency situation. Understand how the ABS feels if your bike is equipped. 2. Checking mirrors, just make it a habit you don't have to think about 3. Pre-ride check. Glance over your bike: oil, fluids, chain slack, and at least kick the tires (if not correctly check the pressure with a gauge) to find out if they're super low before you head out. A flat tire feels wonky and is way unsafe to ride on. 4. Gear. Get some cool gear you enjoy wearing. 5. Positioning. Stay out of blind spots (even if someone actively puts you in theirs) and always have an escape path. Good luck and welcome to the community!

Mine is 58,750 miles (R3 2015) and will keep going. With that mileage, R3 engine is still tough and feels smooth. I was thinking about upgrade but still stick to my old R3.

Congrats!🎉 enjoy your bike. Just stay alert and be mindful of your risks, all the little things add up and things can go wrong quick. As long as you’re smart bikes are super great and practical! Except when it rains all the time and you’re unfortunately dependent on it… Keep up the vids 👍

got a 390 Adventure in Summer 2023. until now i rode it about 2000 miles and i am glad to get rid of it next summer, when i am getting my new license. the problem for me with the bike, and what is the reason what kills the fun for me, is the 1 cylinder engine. its horrible. its so shaky (that my hands starts to tingle after half an hour..) and sounds like somebody dropped a hand full of washers and nuts into the engine during oil change. KTM told me "nope thats completly normal for the engine". My new bike is a GSX1250 FA, which is sitting in the garage right now, waiting to be driven.

Make sure to have a good check on the new bike, and mostly on suspension oil, brakes' fluids (might have some bubbles inside the tubes for example) and the chain. You don't want to have problems while riding, all of that helps you stay safe! Have a good one

Congrats on getting your new license! That doesn't sound like a good experience, but it sounds like its only up from here! Good luck!

@@cursed_spectre The good thing is, that the new bike was owned by somebody I knew. And I knew how he treated this bike. He even apologized to me, when I was looking at the bike, that it’s pretty “dirty”. That thing was sparkling clean and not washed for me. But just to be safe, it will get an inspection incl. Valve clearance check at a Suzuki Dealer, when I can ride this thing next summer. Sooner is not possible, because it won’t fit on my trailer 😅 The thing what I am most amazed about is that the dude I bought this bike of, told me that Suzukis 4 cylinder engines are very rough and “shaky”. That thing is so smooth. Especially in comparison with my 390 Adventure. If that Suzuki is rough and shaky, I am wondering what a Yamaha or Honda 4 cyl Engine would feel like.

Very good audio on this ride! I get horrible wind noise when I go out on my Ninja 400. So bad, I cannot fix it in post with my editing software. On other bikes, no problem but that ninja must push the air straight under the chin bar.
@CozyMoto16 күн бұрын
I’m happy to hear that! It was a learning curve so I’m glad it sounds good! Strange that the 400 manages to push the air just right.
@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures16 күн бұрын
@ it’s probably just the wrong combination of windshield and my height. I switched my windscreen to something else and it got better but it still sucks! I’ve got a couple more ideas to try, including a different helmet. Anyways, you did good here. Keep it up!

Looks like a safe bike for you with no worries. I think you are ready for an upgrade to a larger bike for sure especially since you seem to be like 175lbs, right? I'm 150lbs and am debating between and R3, Ninja 400 or CBR500R.

I’ll get another bike eventually but I still plan to hang on to the R3 when I do. I can definitely recommend the R3, though all of those sound like great options!

I'm glad to see you are enjoying it. Small displacement bikes like these are great for utility use when you occasionally would rather not ride your big one in the future. As for me, the MT-03 is gonna be a long-time keeper bike. I want to spin its rubber all over the streets of the city where I live, and the suburban zones around it, and repeat that to neighboring towns, and from North to South of my country. I only needed to double the power I currently have to enjoy longer roads amongst more bustling traffic.
