Ducati Multistrada V4S. I Rode A Ducati Multistrada V4S and what an Absolute Delight it really was. So powerful and smooth. In truth I hadn’t really been a fan of Ducatis over the years. Not for any reason but simply wasn’t on my radar. But I knew the Multistrada was a great bike and the Ducati Multistrada V4S is exceptional in every way.

After 20 years on Harley’s, the last two on a GSA I’m now probably going for a Ducati in 2024. It’s about experience as you’ve said before Alf. The Ducati’s have a 4 year guarantee, that says a lot. They’ve built these bikes to suit riders and pillions.

All the power, comfort and tec of the Multistrada doesn't come cheap. After one season with the V4 Rally, this bike just ticks all the boxes I always dreamt of.

I've owned my MSV4S Sport since September 2022. My first Ducati too. Took me 14 months to become familiar and comfortable with her. Her name is Joy. Having road raced, I am very picky about suspension. The Skyhook is science fiction. Firm when needed, plush when not needed. The ability to adjust each suspension mode to my liking by using a joystick instead of a small flathead screwdriver and a spanner is insane. Sensors in the swingarm and subframe, fork tubes, and crown measure what's happening in tenths of a second. Hill hold in San Francisco is so glorious. Adaptive cruise is something my car does not have. The mirrors show me what is behind me. Gosh for me this is like finding a unicorn girlfriend who is so good to look at, can cook like a chef, never complains, and is great in bed. I'll be buried with this bike.

I have just gone from a 2018 Harley Fat Bob to a 2019 1260 Multistrada. I'm so glad I made the switch. It's without a shadow of a doubt the best bike I have ever ridden / owned. It feels like the Royals Royce of bikes, it's a step above everything!!!

It will be interesting if honda will bring back the VRF... A nice realist priced V4. I owned an Interceptor in 1985. wish I still had it.

Great review, the multi does have an automatic suspension mode, just bold the suspension button for a few seconds and it goes into automatic, lowers when you go under 30kms and you are on the breaks… I believe

I haven't met any owner that doesnt like his Multistrada. Not many bike manufacturers put road tyres on the Advs as stock equipment but Ducati does. This tells me the Multistrada is on road biased with sport bike performance but in a more comfortable and practical format. Perhaps look at future servicing costs also because I suspect servicing costs will be expensive.

I moved from a GS to the 950 V2S, hugely underrated bike, with sublime handling, loads of grunt and go. In my opinion having ridden both a far better road package and a lot better vfm…

Hey Alf, compare the valve clearance adjustment cost of a Ducati against a H-D and ask yourself if you are happy to make the switch :)

I’ve been lucky enough to own a V4S from new in 2022, I absolutely love it, the only criticism is I don’t have the time to ride it as much as I would like ( 6000 miles) if you can justify the cost you won’t be disappointed, the radar cruise control is fantastic on a bike and all the other tech & creature comforts add to the experience. I recently did 1000 miles in 2 days in France and was gutted to get off it! I also opted for the full Akrapovic system which is amazing if expensive.

Since it holds it value, go for it and if you find you miss your Harley so much, you should be able to go back. Then you will have the experience of the Ducati as well.

One thing that comes across from looking at different bikes nowadays. There is no bad bike, it’s just down to how you feel on the day and gut feeling. If only we all afford to have 4 bikes each

Thats what I did traded my 950s and got a nearly 2 year old one low mileage with all the panniers etc. After the 950 the v4 was in another league. The reason for swapping was the low speed chugging of the vtwin.

I’ve been touring with mates on these, fantastic to ride but they complain on tours about 32-35 mpg😢

I’ve had mine for two and a bit years now it’s a do all bike , and just changed the tyres I got 17,000 k/s and only because they had squared off, do yourself a favour and buy the v4s full. You won’t go wrong .

I love a V4, but to me this is just overkill. You're riding the backroads at 50 mph. You really need 160 hp? Put a 750 version, get rid of the stilts, and cut the price in half and it'd be more interesting to me. You might wanna check the price of servicing that thing. Tearing that thing apart to adjust valves is no 20 minute HD oil change. And while all the computers and motors controlling everything are all very "gee whiz" at first. Then you will start riding it and never diddle with them again. But when they break, you will pay dearly to have them fixed...if they haven't gone obsolete. Personally, if I go Duc it'll be for the old Testastretta lump and a steel trellis frame. I prefer the old stuff that make Ducs unique and gave them character.

I'd rather an older FJR 1300 in immaculate condition for a lot less money. Change the oil and filter once a year and it will last forever. And keep the Harley!!

Wouldn't buy 2nd hand . These bikes cost a fortune 2 fix & service. Only bike I would buy 2nd hand would be Japanese. Bought the new 1290sas will get chop it in when warranty is up. Bikes in my garage now r1 , panagail, tuono v4, ktm1290 & husaberg 250te
