In denver they have gun fire detection systems (they probably do in LA too) that can pint point locations of gunfire and often alerts police before people even call in to report. Fireworks tick this system up and cause it to false alert and sometimes suppress the noise the fireworks make in the system not even alerting at all (because the system thinks its just fireworks) so criminals often use this to cover the use of guns. Fireworks when its not the 4th in Denver are almost always linked to a major crime.
