best dragon video on the tube. not someone trying to show how fast they can ride it. just good info on how to have fun while staying safe on what can be a very dangerous road. i agree it is a bucket list ride mostly for the photos and tee shirts, and i also ride it a few times a year. We are blessed in east TN to have great motorcycle roads in nearly every direction, many of them as nice or better than TOTD. my personal favs are the cherahola and the new section of the foothills parkway. im in knoxville if you are out this way would love to ride with you and get some youtube tips.

hi Ty, this is your best (most helpful) video so far. I plan to ride out to TOTD this season on my Sportster S after my wind-screen arrives (yes, still back order). I have even toyed with the idea of trailering my Heritage Softail and the Sportster S from Minnesota and trying them both! Also plan to ride the C.Skyway; I watched "Doodle" also do the TOTD and the C.Skyw. which was awesome. Both of your vids have me stoked for this upcoming road trip. This is where video blogging really shines. I actually feel like I've been there (I have not) and gives me a great idea of what to expect and perhaps how to prepare. Doodle claims the TOTD is also over-rated , and her favorite ride is the C.Skyw. as well. Thanks again, Ty. Really appreciated this one man! Blessings. marcus

The Tail of the Dragon is definitely a great ride. I’m from East Tennessee, and biased, but it’s certainly not overrated, just over advertised! None of the other local roads, the Moonshiner 28, the Devil’s Triangle, etc…. would even have a “name” (still be just numbers) if it weren’t for the Tail. I guess, the popularity of it makes the photographers money, the stores at each end prosper, and riders can have a great time, if, like you said, they ride their own ride. I’ve ridden it since 1972 on many different motorcycles. Long before it had a name, still just US129 back then, lol…. I enjoyed it just as much on my first ride on a ‘72 Suzuki TS250 dual sport as I do on a sport bike, a Harley, a Triumph, or my ZRX. It’s what you make of it. Ride safe and have fun Ty. The Skyway is definitely a beautiful ride too. Definitely a great video!

Can’t wait to hit it on my Pan America. With no luggage to weigh me down should be pretty quick. And yes it will be in sport mode. True about riding your own ride and paying attention on any of those roads. I always find it interesting that people are starting to call the Tail over rated and that there are better roads. Yes there are great roads all over that area, the uniqueness of the Tail is there are no other roads that come on and off it. No driveways or other things that you have to watch out for from the side. Only other bad drivers and riders. Which can scare the poo 💩 out of you if you aren’t aware. When I go up there now a days, weekday first thing in the morning. Minimal traffic since the photographers aren’t out there yet. Now that is a topic on conversation do they cause accidents? Now they set up in some of the hair pins, not a good place to break your concentration getting your picture made. Keep it between the mustard and the mayo.
