Sean, one piece of advice I'd like to offer if I may. I worked from home myself for 2 1/2 years doing freelance cad work. Set yourself some "office" hours. Living at your job can deny you the satisfaction of ever getting off of work. I felt like if I was home I needed to be working. You can get plenty done if you work 8 or 10 hours a day then knock off. Just my two cents.

I have the same bookshelf and they were even flimsy when i set them up so i installed brackets to the top part of the shelf and drilled it into the bottom shelf and it's much sturdier now haha.

i know about the not leaving things in your shelves thing. it will break your stuff.... luckily only the shelves broke, the games would have been even more expensive to replace. so you lucked out

I tried the same thing with my game shelves when i moved this past summer. About half of the shelves broke. Partly because they were the cheapo $27 wal mart shelves and partly from holding a ton of cartridges or jewel cases. the dvd cases were light enough to make it in tact. they were super heavy to carry too, I'm not going to be moving games like that again, thats for sure.
