Your crankcase breather pipe needs moving to the suction side of the supercharger. Where it is now will pressurise the crankcase when the supercharger boosts. That's why it's spitting oil out.

Having seen and driven a few mgbs with different engine conversions I like the Mazda engine conversions there cheap plentiful and a lot lighter than the b series plus supercharging or turbocharged, those saying v8 I see what your saying but the Mazda engines are reliable people also fit Ford Zetec engines in decent power to weight and the cost of getting decent power from a b series and it being reliable is massive been there done that, my personal opinion I like it, I’m awaiting time at the moment as I’ve acquired a very sad rusty roadster plus a mk1 mx5😊 you can guess the plan

I have to agree that the supercharge blowing through the AFM with no extra fuel has wrecked that engine. I've heard that ticking before and it means one or more piston crowns are partially melted, giving low compression.

A lot of work for what reason? You would have been better fitting a V8 as per factory.
@ChopsGarageАй бұрын
Lower horse power and heavier
@peterh4761Ай бұрын
It depends. The factory v8 was 130 ish.....and ever so slightly lighter than the bseries because it was an alloy lump. Decent sd1 pistons and heads and you can make 150-160 ish..... add a cam and a great deal more.
@philiptidmarshАй бұрын
@@peterh4761 I think the horse power depends on where the engine came from. The early Range Rover was 130hp but the P5B and P6B where 165hp ish from memory. You will likely get a lot more with the mods you are suggesting.

Wonder if you've run it megga lean and done a piston, oil plus lumpy ness, you'll not need a afm with the new ecu, it's useless anyway for forced induction, you were right initially, you just needed an ecu with a base map, good thing is Mx5 engines are cheap as there so reliable, unless you get your hands on one mate (!)

Take oil filler cap off to check blow by, if it's like puffing Billy you've done a piston or rings, any breather is OK even an open pipe, should be hardly even a puff if engine is in good order, loads of oil puffing out looks like megga crankcase pressure, compression check, on the next engine (!) with the new ecu with a base map, you need your lap top connected to adjust the fueling, no afm needed as a pipe runs from a map sensor to the ecu, once it's basically set up it a rolling road then, it's not just fueling that's got to be right it's ignition timing under boost (knock) if its too advanced it'll blow up,
