A tip for getting braids, DO NOT blow dry your hair for them . Do a a twist out instead to stretch your hair. I had my hair dresser braid my twist out hair instead of my blow dried hair and it was SO much healthier when I took the braids down, no thin scraggly curls 🙌🏽🙌🏽 try it

I’ve done this and it helps. I suggest combing it out with a little olive oil, or conditioning grease once the twist dry so that the stylist doesn’t have to comb through the coils to style your hair ❤️. Just a small amount of oil though!!

I’m wondering if your hair “forgetting” how to act in a twist out is part of the issue (since it’s been a while since you wore one). I think the idea that hair has memory and just gets in formation with a particular style when you do it regularly, and can forget how to do it when you take a break from it, carries some weight. Genuine question: Why don’t you just get a hair catcher so you don’t have to stick the hair on the wall?

Girl I promise you just need a good protein treatment to help strengthen your hair more. I neglected protein for so long and my curl pattern loosened a lot and then I incorporated protein slowly into my regime and I have seen a hugee difference.
@evacapri97693 жыл бұрын
Your hair probably just need to get back into the swing of things. You may need to use a clarifying shampoo then deep conditioning. Rice water is a good protein treatment after two uses you may see a change. Love the Aaliyah shirt 💕

Omg! When you took your twists out I was like, that looks really nice but THAT is not what YOUR twist outs usually look like. I’m excited to see this hair journey because it will be proof that if you do the work, you can achieve your hair goals, even if you took a break from your hair for a bit. Thanks so much for posting this video!

I started my journey in December when I shaved off my sides. It’s be up and down for me. My hair is in the awkward length phase and I just braided the middle of my hair until it grows out enough for me to style. #hairjourney 😌

Sometimes, the synthetic hair from braids can damage the hair ends. There was a time, I put synthetic hair in my hair, I had to cut off alot of my hair. It made my hair ends very thins. So, now if I want braids, I would do crotchet braids, instead because it's less tension on the hair ends.
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
My hair is ultra-fine. My trichologists banned me from braided extensions with synthetic hair or human hair. Synthetic hair and coarse human hair will rip into my strand and cause micro fractures alone the cuticle. No Bueno.

Can’t wait to see the new journey. Have struggled with this myself and ppl really not understanding where I’m coming from. Mine was more colors damage, no heat. But really noticing the integrity on my hair declining. But we’re almost through this transition and I’m hopeful. Hoping you get through this with your precious mane!

Protein. Start of with a light protein mist to see how your hair reacts. Then move up to a light protein a d moisture deep conditioner. Then move to a moderate and/or heavier protein treatment. Coloured hair definitely needs to be moisturise trained.....daily and hydrated weekly.
