6 years ago I started my KZbin channel and posted my very first KZbin video… not for clout & “fame”, money & status, influence & power, but SOLELY because 1) I saw a huge lack of representation for women & girls that look like ME and 2) I was tired of allowing the opinions of the world/ societal views to dictate my life, my beauty, my worth! It was very apparent to me that I did not “meet the standard” nor fit the criteria for the societal pressures and expectations put on females to look a certain way in order to be deemed “beautiful”. So I decided, “enough is enough!” I knew I couldn’t be the only girl struggling to love on herself in a world that often times makes it very clear and evident what is “hot” and what is “not”. And lemme tell you, a chocolate black girl with type 4 #naturalhair who doesn’t wear a beat face, have a coke bottle shape, and prefers comfortable athleisure attire (#student-athlete) above all else, isn’t what you’d usually see in the “what’s hot” category… BUT BABBBYYYY, TUH-DAY I BEG TO DIFFER!! Because of y’all’s unconditional love & support (and God’s blessings🙏🏾), I’ve managed to defy the odds and pave a lane for myself that I never knew was even possible🥺😭I’m honestly still a bit speechless and flabbergasted at how all of this was just an idea in 2016 that I allowed my imagination to run wild with and now, I have a channel with 900k+ dope ass people who wholeheartedly support my journey and my dreams… I don’t think you guys will ever truly know how eternally grateful I am for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU, but I promise to continue making you guys proud of the woman I’m becoming🤍 thank you so much for EVERYTHING!! iloveyouguyssooooomuch Next up, #RoadToAMillion ✨

It's interesting people say they hair grows when its dirty. I think it's just simply because the hair isn't being manipulated so growth is maintained. I think maybe the "you need to wash your part" is for the build up and all that jazz on your scalp. But like you said different strokes for different folks. But my next wash day I need to wet my braids like that in the shower idk why I never did that.

Love your videos! Suggestion for when you do your cornrows: Add a braid going horizontal at the nape of your neck, especially if you wear your braids in a little bun. It’ll help prevent pulling and breakage at the nape. When I started doing that I noticed major growth and retention in my hair 😊

And everyday I would tell myself that I’m going to wash my hair, but i don’t because i know detangling will be a nighttime and prolonging it only makes it worst. I only wash my hair twice since October. But to fair, apparently I’ve developed mild depression since my father died in October, but I can’t keep living like this. My scalp nor my future hair goals can continue this way. I have never wanted to go bald a day in my life until I took off my bonnet and saw the birds nest that I called my hair 😵💫
