I bleached all of my hair (which was pretty long and dark), then went at it with red and blue dye because, for some reason, that seemed like a good color combo. Not to mention I was going through my wannabe scene phase so I also had coontails in it. Basically, I looked like I had some serious American pride hair. After about a week, I realized I actually hated it and dyed my hair a dark auburn color and cut it into a long bob to get rid of the fried ends.

boy oh boy, have I got a disaster dye story for you! I am currently 17 going on 18 and I have dyed my own hair for as long as I can remember. simple colors really and they've all turned out amazing. BUTTTT, I decided I wanted to go a grey/silver color just a few months ago. me knowing some knowledge on hair (by knowledge I mean your general "this is how this works" type of knowing) I knew for a fact that my dyed brown hair over my previously dyed bleached to blue hair WOULD NOT SURVIVE another bleaching process. I finally came to terms with the fact that I would need to cut most of my hair after the bleaching because I didn't want dead hair, so I was like alright gonna go silver. however I didn't want to do it myself. I am not a professional and even though I have bleached my own hair before, I didn't trust myself. so my grandmother decided to take me to a hair salon. so I go, lady does her stuff, and right off the bat I realize she should not be allowed to dye my hair. her knowledge of bleach lacked that of my own and she bleached it twice, each p being at most an hour to an hour and a half with the bleach on my full head including scalp. I was in pain to say the least. finally she rinses it off after being hours in the same freaking chair, and (while my head is still wet and in the basin) she glops on a purple colored dye. (now she said grey was unachievable because the bleach didn't really lift, and said she would be able to go purple over, I agreed only cause I didn't want the horrid gross bleached hair I had on my head at that time. I should have however walked out and did the rest of the process myself) SO, with my wet head still in the sink, she beings lathering this dye in my hair, all while saying yes it's a dark color, so in my mind I'm thinking dark ass purple. she finished the while tube on my head and leaves it for 45 mins. she beings to wash it out and I finally get a look at my hair and... it's not purple.. at all.. it's a rosey plum color, close to a violet but barely. the dye job is PATCHY. when I say patchy I mean, some spots are not even DYED, they were still white blonde! some parts of my hair were darker than others, other parts were dingy with the color. she had to cut alot of my hair off, more than I intended and wanted cut off, and it was still super dead after. it was the worst thing ever and I knew I HAD to fix it. I was upset because everything went terribly wrong. I let my hair sit for about 2 to 3 days until I was able to think of an idea to fix it. now bleaching or stripping my hair was a no go for me, it didn't want to risk frying my hair more than it was. so much like your solution, I decided my best bet was to lay a darker color over and hope for an even looking color. Onwards to Sally ' s hair store, I picked up 3 bottles of dye (2 ion color purple and 1 ion color tanzanite) I mixed thr colors together and Vala! my hair turned to a nice deep purple blue and in the sun it was the loudest purple ever. that is my hair disaster story, hope ya enjoyed.

Okay, here's how I fucked my hair up when I was 14. (,: I was absolutely obsessed with having long hair but, my hair doesn't grow very fast or hardly at all. I asked my mom for extensions for my birthday and I got 18" Remy hair extensions WITH metal clips. Let me tell you why THAT was a mistake, I am allergic to metal. Smart, right? Well, I wore my extensions every single day for about a year until it was time for me to go get my ends trimmed. When my hair stylist pulled up my hair to cut it, I HAD BIG HUGE BALD SPOTS ALL OVER MY HEAD. When I say bald, I mean baby bald. No hair what so ever. Firstly I permed my hair then I decided to dye it red. Then I got bored of the red so I bleached it (Which was not a good Idea) then a month later I was like "Hey, maybe I should perm it again" (also not a good Idea) I put the perm in my hair it sits in for about 5 minutes then I had my sister wash it out of my hair while my head was facing the surface of the tub. I suggest a deep hair mask at least once a week and then sit in the sun with it on as the heat helps it, I personally suggest olaplex and elasticiser (sorry I can't remember any brands) I hope they will act as a magic want to wash away all of your hair troubles

PROTIP for all you hair coloring folks: If your wig/extensions are synthetic or something of that sort, NEVER use real hair dye. If you absolutely MUST color your synthetic hair, grab a bottle of acrylic alcohol ink and put that into a spray bottle. Dilute the ink with isopropyl alcohol and spray that mixture onto your hair. If you do not have access to acrylic alcohol ink, use the cartridge from a sharpie and set it in the spray bottle for 24 hours along with the isopropyl alchohol to soak with it. REMEMBER that your original synthetic hair color MUST be light enough for your dye to show up. So that means that it must be white, pastel, light brown, etc.

I have crazy curly hair, but I totally hated it. I straightened my hair every day for three years straight and completely fried it. So I made a promise to myself to fix things and so far it has been approximately seven months since I last used ANY heat tools on my hair, and I recently cut off a huge chunk of it to get rid of the bleached and burned parts. Which for me, meant having hair that reached my hips, to hair that reaches my shoulders. But now I totally dig my curly hair and work it all day erryday!

I mean I never RUINED my hair, but when I was younger I just never brushed my hair, and when I say never, I mean for at least three years I didn't brush my hair except maybe once a month when my mom took me into the bathroom wet my hair, and started from the roots and brushed my hair down to the ends. So after I while I realized I needed to brush my hair but it was really really damaged and frizzy but I just didn't care anymore. Soon after I started brushing my hair regularly my mom took me to her friend that does hair that she went to school with and she tried to hard to fix my hair without cutting it all off, because when I was younger I got all of my hair cut off and I really liked my long hair. So for a few years she kept trying to keep it alive and it was getting better but it just didn't go back I normal, I mean I had spilt ends that went up to my shoulders and my hair was waist length. So this summer I decided to cut my hair up to almost my chin... that's my hair story XD

OH MY GOD DID I EVER RUIN MY HAIR EXTENSIONS/HAIR! this was like 4 years ago... I got my extensions (24 inch) sewn in and I had them for like 4 months and I was supposed to go get them redone but I put it off and I had the bright idea (my dumb ass 13 y/o self) to go find treatments for extensions that need a little TLC so I put this egg and coconut oil mixture In my hair left it for half an hour and went to go wash it out.... Do you wanna guess what happened to my fucking hair.... it fucking dreadlocked my extensions to the roots of my hair along with my hair itself and my mom had to spend like HOURS putting detangler in my hair and gently brushing it out I was in so much pain from it I was holding back tears it was the worst thing ever so now I am terrified of that stupid mixture my hair was maybe just above my boobs at that time and after that it was like almost to my shoulders... I cried for hours like there is nothing is this world that would ever make me want to cut my hair..

You wash it about once or twice a month but you're supposed to use special shampoo made for wigs. You can buy it at most beauty supply stores!

I'm technically new to all this wig but but I think one method if washing one is using conditioner with a bunch of oil in it with no shampoo. I heard shampoo damages it. but I'm most likely wrong so don't quote me on it plz

I suffer from bad ocd and anxiety and it's let to me pulling out some of my hair... it's naturally thin, but there's a lot of it, but now um :( I've considered cutting my hair shorter, but I hate the feel of short hair (even though I've never had it short sort, I've been scared of going short cuz of bad hairdressing experiences). maybe try a wig! It covers & protects your natural hair, and you can play with and style the wig hair all you want. I pull my hair from anxiety and I find that wigs really help me. I would also braid all my hair back and/or wear a headband or scarf to prevent me from picking at it absentmindedly.

I bleached my hair blonde thinking it would work and my hair was orange and i originally was supposed to have blonde highlights but i guess the bleach had a different plan. After that nightmare i had to dye my whole head blonde. A LONG time after that i went to go to the salon and made the big chop. i ended up cutting off 10 inches of my hair of to get it to my natural color again. She died my hair back to brown and it faded to my original color, and im gonna get another hair cut to finally get rid of the leftover blonde off the tips of my hair. when i had dyed my hair it felt horrible!! If you're such an "expert" with hair...lol...you could buy any other red dye with black and mix a few drops of black into the red. Both being semi-permanents of course. You'd also have a spare bottle that's almost full of black dye.

I messed up my hair extensions. They were synthetic black and red extensions and they were really nice but they were my first set. I didn't know you weren't supposed to straighten synthetic extensions and the only reason I did is because the ends got messed up while being packaged. I ended up straightening the whole set of extensions and the heat messed them up pretty bad. How I fixed it is I ended up dreading them. Now they look amazing (:

All I did was back comb them (like when you tease hair) and twist them. It takes a lot of back combing and twisting and a few hours work but they turn out good in the end (:

+Alexandra Mikka when dying hair extensions or wigs some people want it to look like their real hair color or dyed color, it's really hard to find your exact color especially if you dyed it yourself so it's easier to buy a light colored wig and dye it yourself to match perfectly or at least that's why I've done it in the past
