My pick for best claustrophobic thriller is easy: The Descent. That movie scared the crap out of me before the “scary” stuff started happening. I actually started to feel more comfortable once it turned into a horror.

I loved 10 Cloverfield Lane more; that movie had me on the edge of my tiny fluff every second! The claustrophobic vibes were more intense than trying to fit into a too-small doggy sweater. I.S.S. had potential, but it's like comparing a tennis ball to a squeaky toy: one's a winner, the other just leaves you chasing after something better. Woof woof 🐶

My fav claustrophobic movie is probably Gravity. I went with a friend to see it, not really knowing what was gonna happen. I remember multiple times, my breathing had gotten so shallow that my chest hurt. When it ended, my friend told me his breathing had also gotten super shallow I don’t think the movie is fully claustrophobic, but also Train to Busan. The parts where the characters had to sneak past all the zombies on the train had me white knuckling

Gravity was such an amazing experience. It really felt like being there and feeling everything. Also a pretty good reason why not knowing anything al all about what a movie is about gives the best experience. I had no clue there was an accident about to happen, just that it had “Sandra Bullock in space”. Yet we are here watching movie reviews!

The novel 'Lucifer's Hammer' -- written by Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle in 1977, while the cold war was still very hot & 20 years before the ISS even existed in the real world -- had a sub-plot identical to 'ISS', but shit kicks off after civilization is devastated by a massive comet impact. I don't recall what it was named in the novel, but it was a joint space station with both American astronauts & Soviet cosmonauts on board, with communication breakdowns, secret orders, murder & mayhem, etc.

@fuzzuck
@fuzzuck 6 ай бұрын
@@gianni_hello I read it over a decade ago, but it held up then as an expansive, nightmarish vision of a pre-digital age cosmic apocalypse, and I think it still does hold up; an alternate (end of) history, for a time when it truly felt like the nuclear sword of Damocles was hanging over humanity's head, infusing everything with a nihilistic subtext. The scope is (obviously) massive, & the tidal wave passages definitely stand out, but the savagery, greed, & vicious tribalism that immediately sweeps over the surviving population like a contagion is also memorable, feeling brutally realistic.

Favorite claustrophobic movie? Favorite is hard but maybe the most interesting use of confined space: Fall (2022). It's a pretty good movie and its was kind of interesting that the characters were confined so tightly to such a small space yet they were literally in the open, able to see for miles in every direction.

This is a really fun movie that is great for those that don't try to outsmart everything and allow themselves to be entertained

Know Jeremy won't see this, but I've been a subscriber since your channel had less than 10k people. This was the second channel I subscribed to back in the day after subscribing to some cooking channel I can't even remember anymore. Came for the honesty, stayed for the FF6/Chrono Trigger/LotR fanboy. Hoping you and your friends/family have a great 2024.

When you started describing the plot, I was immediately thinking of Crimson Tide in space, too.

Oh man I’m glad you clarified. I thought this was going to be a horror movie about In School Suspension.

Dead Calm (1989): Sam Neill, Nicole Kidman (her breakthrough role), and Billy Zane. Two yachts, one is sinking, and only one survivor from it climbs aboard the other. Great moments of tension on each boat in the middle of the ocean.

Sorta reminds me of the crappy 80s rental DEFCON 4. Excellent box art drew me in. Might check this out at some point.

It’s so funny when Jeremy say’s the movie “jumped whatever, but I’m not going to spoil it”…while watching the movie it’s in the back of my head and then I’m like there it is 😂

Sunshine. I’ve seen it about 10 times. Creeps me out and fascinates me every time. Been chasing that dragon ever since. I didn’t realize how hard it is to make a movie about people in a spaceship and it be good.

Interesting to see Asha (her voice actress Ariana Debose is here) in a space thriller movie. 🎵"So look I out at the stars to kill me and throw panic to every atom bomb!"🎵

My favorite claustrophobic film is "Day of the Dead" because it got everything you want on that genre esp. the villain character Capt. Rhodes, he makes The Governor and Negan from TWD looks like a saint.
