I sailed on the OLDEST Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships: the reality

You are really missing out then. You don’t have to take advantage of all the “bells and whistles,” but the broadway shows and better entertainment they have on bigger ships are really worth it.

My very first cruise, way back in 1993, was aboard the original Mardi Gras. We sailed on its last Voyage before it was decommissioned and renamed. That was definitely a small ship. But, I didn't have anything to truly compare it to, so it was one of the most enjoyable vacations of my life. I have since been on more cruises, and on newer ships, but I will always remember that first cruise on the Mardi Gras with fondness.

Grandeur is one of our favorite cruise ships. Although it’s old by cruise ship age, it’s an easy ship to love. We continue to sail on the Vision ships such as the Enchantment of the Seas and two upcoming cruises on Vision of the Seas. Yes, we’ve sailed on Oasis class ships and Celebrity ships, but we feel most at home on the Vision Class ships.

I sailed on the miracle for our first cruise 🚢. We loved it and can’t wait to cruise again. The entertainment was just ok. The food was good. It only took 3-5 minutes to walk from one end to another which was nice

Recently sailed on Vision of the Seas and I was impressed with how well this ship was maintained. In addition the staff were amazing. I like the smaller ships especially since I can sale from my hometown. The newer bigger ships can not come in to our port.

My favorite cruise ship is Carnival Pride. Its first cruise was in 2003. It is older, but its so different than modern ships. There is more space per patron than the bigger ships. I think it will forever be my favorite.

Ecstasy was my first cruise in 2008, and I have been hooked ever since. We are 15 cruises in now and wouldn't change it for the world.

Funny my 1st cruise ever was on Carnival Holiday & then Royal Vision of the Seas...Not sure if Holiday is still around. Had fun on both, but sorry to say Loyal to Royal!!!

Carnival is yay better I know what both are like never on royal criben but I think carnival is better in my opinion ? And Ecstasy was my first cruise I went on sad to see it go 😩😢😭it was my 6 th birthday

I took a 10 day sailing on radiance of the seas earlier this year out of Galveston. It was my first rc cruise. Service was definitely better than my prior carnival Cruises (dream, Vista and breeze) however I def prefer carnivals numerous free food. Radiance definitely had a much older crowd too. I'm booked on harmony Mar 2024. I'll be using that to determine if I like rc or carnival better as that is a closer comparison to my carnival sailings. I really enjoy the show time experience in mdr on carnival.
