Great video as usual. I hate recapping the actual xbox MB caps as well. requires so much heat to get them off. As for the power supply problem, since you're getting half of the voltage at your filter caps, I'm thinking bridge rectifier or a resistor in series of the AC line coming from one of the bridge rectifier middle legs. That would be my next section to check. I always check the voltages at the filter caps first. that at least tells me I'm getting the right voltage to supply the rest of the board. If it's half of expected like this one then I'm going to remove the rectifier and test that.

I had a bad Samsung psu. It was a 10uf 50v cap that had ESR through the roof. I did replace them all other than the mains filter caps.

I guess this is why it’s almost always recommended to just replace the psu with a known good one and call it day. Easier and cheaper.

My guess is the voltage regulator. I skipped ahead to see what the problem was so I don't know if it was checked or not.

Hey bud, thanks for the videos. Helps a lot. I've got a crystal and have replaced caps and clock cap just incase. The legs were green when taking it out and i replaced. I've even swopped the power supply. When I press the power button it makes a buzzing noise but doesn't boot up. Any advice will be great. Thanks

It is possible there could be a shorted component.

@RetroRenegadeRepairs thanks for that. Send it to a friend of mine. Been working on consoles for over 24yrs so hopefully he'll pick up something 🙏🏼

I'd suspect a faulty rectifier diode pack.

What are your opinion? Should i replace all the capacitors or only those that are leaking or bulges?

All. Usually the others are not far behind.
