i'm Navajo/Diné from checkerboard country in New Mexico, & i was told that Navajos are not supposed to be running on top of hills, or near the mesas, or anywhere near the mountains. because all high places on Earth; from mountains to mesas & hills; are all where Yé'ii (Navajo/Diné deities) roam & live. as a child, i was told that Yé'iis will run after you or chase you away if you are somewhere where you are not supposed to be, such as sacred grounds. i think that is why those kids were chased by the Yé'ii because they were on sacred grounds.

I know that area very well. Ran that trail almost everyday. It must be the black yeibicheii, I've seen it a couple of times. The few times I've seen it, it just watched me doing sprints. There is a hole not too far in that area, where I found a dead fox stuffed in a hole.

These Ya'niis are hard to track sometimes they make long leaps sometimes only their nails scratches the ground are visible the next one might be a full print ..my brother Driving early in the morning saw a Deer run across the road about 50yards he stopped to observe it it ran to the shack behind the house horse's in the corral they all standing looking at it ears pointing and unsettling then this Lady comes out from behind the house goes back inside 😱😱. This little deer while it cross the road it legs were just dangling nothing was touching the ground...

@@Coach-fk5xe actually, the Yé'iis are not the people in the regalia. those people are the vessels for the Yé'iis. i'm not supposed to talk about it, but i wanted to correct you. the regalia outfits are not costumes. the people in the outfits, are not the Yé'iis either. the people in the outfits are actually the vessels for the Yé'iis. when someone is sick; near-death, or under a spell from witchcraft; the Yé'iis enter the vessels to help heal the person who needs healing.
