The soup is Chicharo and common in Cuba. And very inexpensive to make. Friends of mine recall having to eat it every day at school because food supplies had dried up. It is made with dried yellow peas, and maybe a potato and other vegetables that may be available. Today, meat enriches it. I’ve eaten it at many different casas and every household makes it a little bit different. It is absolutely delicious. But for a Cuban that lived during the special period, often they will not eat it anymore because they had to eat so much during the special period

I remember haggling for three days with one of the tobaccofarmers in Vinales. After three days I finally got him to lower the price. I purchased around 25 cigars. Smoked maybe 3 and the rest dried out it my closet. I was too cheap to purchase a humidor for them 😂

@@yanaaspen дааа 😍 нет, это была поездка на день из Гаваны, но там можно и приехать пожить на 2-3 дня. Живут у людей местных, в их домах, в этом и вся прелесть, они тебе могут готовить еду, плюс лучше привести также свои какие-то snacks. Насчет магазинов - даже не знаю, на Кубе с этим напряженка, но в ресторанах точно еда найдется, плюс фрукты да овощи всегда можно найти ☺️
