Nike, I am glad you have an opportunity to go to Cuba, you cannot imagine how many of us want to know what is there. Your trip still seems kind of like a wonderland tour looking through the US past with the vehicles, but seeing the poverty or just the environment that the Cubans live in is just astonishing. Thank you for sharing, I cannot to see more!

Love Cuba since as Canadians we have been able to travel to Cuba quite freely unlike our USA cousins...who are just discovering Cuba's beauty now. Our daughter actually married a Cuban/Canadian and we have our selves traveled there a few times and loved it! Thanks for sharing all your travels, we love following you!

I'm falling in love with you Nike (not in that way). The bit at 2:58 "Give it to me baby!" cracked me up so bad. Hahaha. You're not only smart, brave, gorgeous, and sweet but funny as hell. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us. Please be safe. Take good care.

It's not the destination, it's the journey. There are far more interesting stories about getting lost than following a guide. Great choice! That's how my my wife and I are. Although, as a geek, I would have had my hand held GPS with me and a marker where I started. :-) But in my opinion, one is only lost if one can't find their way back. Having a rough idea of the area is often more than enough, as you proved. Thanks for sharing!

Nice to hear your parents are visiting, they must be proud! We are headed for Cuba for a 3 month cruise this December, spending most of the time along the south coast... Enjoyed watching your land trips especially this last one ... looking forward to the next one on Havana... couldn't really tell if you enjoyed the cigar? love your spirit.
@WhiteSpotPirates8 жыл бұрын
Hey Jamie, the cigar was actually quite nice. They dip it into honey before you smoke it which gave it a really nice flavour. We finished the cigar at night with a Mojito, that was defenitely better than smoking in that hot hut, though. But I am not a massive cigar lover I have to admit. I was more for the moment of being in Cuba u need to have a Cuban Cigar and some Cuban Rum :) I still have some on Karl, but have only touched them once since Cuba. Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Nice video especially the tobacco farming, interesting that the government takes 90% of production probably at a fixed price to manufacture cigars for export along with a wonderful profit margin. The steering wheel on the taxi was almost a big as the boats Karl's helm. Looking forward to the next instalment thanks for sharing.

Hey Vahn, sorry for the worry. The videos are some months behind, I have already left the Caribbean and Karl is safely in the Pacific. I am currently doing some land travel in Colombia and did not bring my Computer (did not fit in the bag...but did bring my cameras ;)) and therefore it is hard to revise the videos and do the speaking from the off to finish the episodes. We hope to be back on regular weekly postings soon... Ahoy, Nike & Karl P.S. For real time postings, you can always check facebook.com/whitespotpirates. It's free to the public, so u don't have to be a member to see the postings. At 8:24 the way your hoodie sat looked enough like the head dress seen on the virgin Mary in so many Catholic artists' renderings. Now I won't be able to go into into a Catholic Church, without half expecting to see on one of the painted windows a depiction of the virgin Mary celebrating that her ordeal is over with a big fat cigar. Now the next time I step into a Catholic Church I'll never be able to keep a straight face. Hehehehehe.

Were you able to get internet in Cuba?
@WhiteSpotPirates8 жыл бұрын
There is internet in big hotels and on main plazas usually. You can buy little cards of an hour or five hours, it will cost you 2 dollars an hour and then you can log in with those cards. BUT...the cards are often sold out or u have to stand in line for an hour or two to get them ;) So it's not really internet heaven, but you do get some internet here and there. Ahoy, Nike & Karl
