My boyfriend and I just got home from watching I Saw The TV Glow and I LOVE this movie. The set and liminal space created a sense of isolation that mirrored reality in a really beautiful melancholy way. Spaces that are full of people can feel isolating. Especially in a society where we see so many people every day but lack a real sense of community. It reminded me of my early 20s, the same way Maddy went through a rebirth from the ages of 19 to 22, I went through something similar. I essentially did have to bury my old self and the miseducation I was taught growing up in order to birth my new self. That rebirth was the best thing that could have happened to me. Now I do live in a world of fantasy in a way. I'm an artist lol. And I create my own reality. My main take away from this movie was: Live life on your own terms. Don't stop at the halfway point. Go all the way. Grow some balls and create a better reality for yourself.
