Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

13:35. Have you ever heard of the tomcat? It has variable sweep wings that allow it to accomplish different tasks. It can open the wings to increase low speed stability. Closing the wings allows it to fly at a much faster speed because it becomes far more aerodynamic.

Wow! I was surprised to see my old "Aerocycle mono" made this video. It was never intended as a ground vehicle, but it was super fun to watch it used that way! If you're interested, I have a "weight shifting sky cycle" on my workshop, along with "Stumble Bot 5000" both use weight balancing. (don't try to control stumble bot, he has enough trouble trying to keep himself upright as it is.)

The wings are folded to increase storage capacity, and when the wings fold out, the jets have so much lift compared to regular jets that they can basically float behind the enemy and out rate some enemies you couldn’t with wings folded back, and the wings folding can help with speed

@@yuanxinwang8219 the main reason the wings fold is to avoid the shockwave forming at supersonic speeds, and to reduce air drag at high speeds.All while still allowing for low takeoff and landing speeds with the wings folded out. Storage space is a nice benefit, but still a lot worse than fixed wings that are specifically designed to fold for storage

7:25 Well, thats true only for angle sensor self balancing. I think this thing is balanced via distance sensors only, so it would stay horizontal to the surface, not the hroizon line.

I think the idea of the final monowheel was that the outer wheels have a smaller diameter, so that driving on the edge of the bigger and a smaller wheel causes turning

There are two types of "mono wing planes" Flying Wings, and Lifting Body planes, and id love to see you make a Lifting Body plane, because it uses the fuselage as the only source of lift, no wings other than Vertical stabilizers sometimes, were real prototypes made by Nasa

Trailmakers challenge idea: you build forklifts that can move pallets that are lined with dynamite and are 8 blocks wide with a 6 block gap. Then you have to move them in front of a distance sensor and whoever gets all three(or how every many pallets you want) wins. Also if you exceed 30 kph you hook up a AND logic gate to explode the dynamite.

I think the "mono wing" was an attempt at a variable sweep wing. The idea is that it can achieve better top speed and acceleration at the expense of lift, but that is compensated for by the increase in speed. The creation didn't work in the "swept" formation because the wings are generating no lift at all at that angle. It makes me doubt they were going for a vsw, but fixing it just requires angling the wings into the the direction of travel until the generate lift, and maybe adding more thrust

so about the monocopter... helicopters all have 2 blade orientations, either side-by-side(the pivot point in this case would be a part of what holds the blades in place) or one vertical and one sideways at a 90 degree offset for the tail... this ones a single stack and thats it... edit: also, multiplayer monday race but your only turning method has to be weight shifting?

Closed wings is more stable as being stable in plane terminology means to be nose heavy or center of weight is long ways in front of center of lify while unbalanced means that the center of lift is close to the center of weight

12:37 Mono wings are actually planes with just a single pair of wings, this includes a lot of todays modern airliners. Flying wings or "Lifting bodies" are planes where the whole body of the aircraft serves as a lifting surface.

Make a boat that turns based on weight shifting from side to side as a nechanisam inside the boat. This way if the boat turns you know it is onley a product of weight distribution and not a reaction with the water.

It all depends on how force is being applied with offset monowheels. If the wheel is not the thing that is driving the vehicle forward then it is a point of drag and drag.....well it's called drag for a reason instead of shove.When you have a force trying to shove a point of drag, that drag point will want to be behind the driving force, which is why caster wheels work. The wheels themselves are not powered so they will drag behind the pivoting point. Because the ones you've looked at are all thruster propelled, they are acting like caster wheels and therefore the wheel will always want to trail behind the thruster and it hates being pushed by it every time.
