Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

2:24 That one is based off a collaboration build I made with a friend! I made the cockpit, landing gear and turret on the bottom while he made the flight parts. This was like years ago and I don't have the blueprint anymore but it's awesome to see it, or a variant of it appear on your channel!

The design on 17:00 is similar to the Variable Fighter Valkirye from Robotech (original name Macross) but the vf complete the transformation in robot too. Aircraft-Vtol with legs-humanoid robot.

F35 seems well made for trailmakers. But I just have to mention that, on the real thing, the exhaust port and turbine you mentioned is actually a lift fan. Also idk if trailmakers incorporates some real world physics, because it seems to me that, the reason that last plane was rotating that way is similar to how WW2 propeller planes had the tendency to be pulled to the left by the inertia of the rotating propellers. This was the reason why aircraft carriers had their islands on the right so the planes didnt slam into them. It's no longer applicable in the jet age, but the design just stuck.

First! I think. (First video I think I've ever been first to comment on) I really enjoyed this this video (just like every other) especially that perfectly cut "Ah-" at 17:11. My favourite VTOL was the F-35 B VTOL by Alpaco :) (also I think first viewer which is also a first-time thing) also I would like to see more sprocket videos maybe?

Last one probably ork bomber from "Dawn of war: Soulstorm". All airplanes there are vtol due to game mechanic, but that plane have some whaaagh power in it.

V/Stol is the true term for aircraft going from vertical and horizontal flight like the osprey, harrier, f-35, and the yak-38 and yak-141 but VTOL is just used more.
