My grandpa loves to watch your videos. He's over 80 now, but when he was a kid, he used to bike for two hours each Sunday just to meet with his friends and watch freshly cleaned cars going to the church. They'd shout out the brand name and as many specs as they knew, and sometimes the driver would rev. He says you've got the same joyful obsession for those ships, guessing the exact model by mere shadow or the engine sound. He sometimes makes me pause to make a guess, and he's right about half the time (which might sound low, but it's still 2x better than me, and he doesn't even speak English - we enable those horrible auto-translated captions for him). His whole life, he would recall a time of a memory by the cars that were released that year. Lately he flabbergasted the rest of my family with: “It was May you see, because that same week you've got the nimble one” (referring to my 1st Fury). Saying “it made my day” would be an understatement of the decade.

@@everythingpony Oh, he loves everything regarding computers. Doesn't understand them, but loves to watch. He says we live in times he read about in sci-fi books of his youth. He doesn't care for the underlying tech, but lives for the capabilities. For example, he used to hate VR with my 1st crappy goggles, but the 1st time he saw Elite Dangerous on Valve Index, he was laughing 2 hours straight. And we weren't even flying - he was just looking around the station, at the stars and passing ships. Couldn't believe we made the leap from crappy to believable in his life-time. Finally said: “Take this off me, I've got a headache an hour ago!”, and still didn't stop laughing for another hour. My mum (who's also his nurse) had us limit his VR time to 1 hour a week, because his ophthalmologist says it interferes with his glasses straining eyes, and his cardiologist says the excitement is too much strain on his heart. Didn't stop him. Whenever I'd visit, he'd wake me up in the middle of the night to sneak in some 3d screen time. When mum caught us, he spent an afternoon digging a whole in the garden and said to bury him in there the day he can no longer enjoy new tech or dig holes.

I've always landed my fighters off-skew anyway, because the pilot seat usually lets you out of the left side, and because it looks cooler to come in fast while bringing your nose up with a bit of a drift and kinda airbrake the landing. It adds a little flourish for something I've done a few thousand times. Anyone can land perfectly straight, adding extra steps builds the micro control that makes a better pilot.

Your Constellation Question: I own the Taurus, and have for years. It has come into its own with tractor beam turret and hauling missions. The Connie series needs an update, especially with engineering coming as it has no physical components.

If you're having issues putting stuff in your hands, that's usually because the game still has something assigned to your hands (like a bottle). Go to your nearest hospital, put everything you're wearing into that inventory, make sure your respawn is set to that location, and then backspace. Once you respawn and check your inventory, you'll see what you had stuck in your hands too.

For not being able to carry the boxes, if you switch into inventory mode you can drag the box to the player hands and it will become carriable again. Also, depending on when you collected this footage, I may have seen myself in there.

14:14 Large Cargo Bay, Ursa, Cyclone and Nox plus some small boooxes in the back of the goose the beds for bedlogging.. would be great for bedlogging with crew members.. what we don't like about is that heavy booty swing.

Nice to see this started back up again. That Mole is how I like to take off, but it's not mine since I don't have any reason to take it down to a spaceport, and A18 isn't my home base. Another reason some people may land off center in hangars now is because some of us (like me) now have an XL personal hangar, which means a long walk for smaller ships if it's centered. So I may land a smaller ship towards one end of the hangar so I don't have to walk as far.

The Nacelle-like structures are what sells the Constellation for me, and why I have the Aquila. I wanted the Aquila because it is a 3-in-1 package, teamed up with the P-52 Merlin and the Ursa. And, since it is the newer iteration, the view through the canopy is much nicer. Although I fly it solo, it is a more powerful ship if it is crewed, and I look forward to a day where I can have a crew, IRL or NPC.

The whole landing gear speed slowdown has changed my landings. I always drop the landing gear before the doors fully open and slowly crawl into the hangar. Then I turn sideways for the freight elevator.

I prefer the Taurus as I tend to play solo, so the turret being swapped to a tractor beam is a non issue for me. Similarly , Dropping the snub for a spare cargo hold is handy for me. It's where I put gear and snacks. When I do have a friend, they can hop onto the top turret if they want.

To fix the hand thing, take all your gear off, go outside the armistice zone and backspace. The game is registering something in your hands, and if you backspace in armistice, it stays.

If you cant put bottles in your hand, respawn. The game thinks you have one already. If you respawn, it will clear and it will work again.

I have had this game for almost 2 weeks now and me looking back on my first day landing and how I’m landing now is kinda funny to think about. I came into my handing at full speed and crashed so much and sometimes not even coming into my hanger, just flying in at ports and never turning off my quantum drive.

I like the look and functionality of the Taurus. If they can fix the visibility issues and the elevator issues, I would get another one. For now it's not a ship I fly.

the Spirit at around the 7:00 mark looks suspicionsly close to how i sometimes take off and realise the vtols are off..... even uses the same paint job... if regards of the Taurus, love the look, love how easy the cargo bay it to load, tractor beam location is great, and it just a pleasure to fly one.

The only workaround for the unable to carry from inventory issue is backspace i‘m afraid, as far as i know anyways. Sometimes, carrying something from inventory will remove it from inventory but not add it to your hands, in the background it‘s probably another iteration of the infinite transferring bug. That is when the issue starts, and it will plague that particular clone for its entire lifetime.

You would've had a blast if you you had seen the time I landed a Carrack upside down. Also, if I'm taking off horizontally (at a space station for example) I don't use VTOL because I don't see any reason to if I'm not trying to go up.

Hmmn gear deployment can act as a brake at present. So you will see some people repeatedly dropping gear to brake if they feel they are coming in too hot. This would be especially true in a caterpiller that literally flies like a brick in atmosphere.

I believe the reason that your crates disappeared is because there is a spawn limit. I have taken to parking fighters and other small ships around my XL hangar and then I noticed some started disappearing and the ASOP marked them as destroyed.

One of these days ill see myself in these videos. If im in a raven i am usually out of the hanger in full afterburner before the doors fully open, very cinematic. Landing is still a bit tricky since I'm trying a new method of nose in and flare up right before landing.

I haven't noticed lately, but there was a time, I swear ATC (Devs) would assign a hanger the farthest from you there was. ;-) At 18:18; Nice "Champaign" landing, sir. At 23:34; you were remarking about the C2 pilot waiting too long to retract his gear and I remembered you like when a pilot deploys the gear just before touchdown. A thought. "How do you know low, is too low" to deploy your gear, ie: your gear extends longer than your distance above the landing pad. Oops! ;-D I'm guessing you've organized the boxes, crates and containers for easy access, but it's a shame we can't label them so in case their "disturbed" (glitched) you can place them quickly back in order. At 27:06; you remark about it being early morning, but how do you know it's not evening? I had suggested (a couple times) to "Game Ideas" that they create a Day/Night clock, indicating, not with numbers, but with colors that it's nighttime (black), going into dawn (darker to lighter patches of blue) or daylight (yellow) going into dusk (lighter to darker patches of blue).

When I take off I actually RP a lot of what I do lol I like to vision myself actually taking off and since I’m not in a rocket ship I don’t just nose up & burn I take the partial nose up- route till I’m away from the city then I after burn till I can jump & when landing I always approach from the far side at a slow speed *city speeds* I only put landing gear down once in hanger I love SC for its RP ability

I do like the look of Constellation, but I can't stand landing one anywhere that doesn't have a landing pad. The Taurus is amazing for the tractor beam location, imo it is the single most functional ship tractor beam in the game. I do like the idea of using a mule as a food truck.

Nice to see the Aurora getting some love. Connies never made sense to me till the Taurus came out. Vehicle tractor beams aren't that useful or well implemented yet, up until the recent handheld changes it was always more efficient (at least to my mind) to use a handheld. Maybe one day they will get this right, it will be interesting to see whether the Zeus Mk II tractor beam is better to use...

There is nothing nice about horizontal landings with a ceiling hangar door, because people cheat by going into 3rd person and then fumble around awkwardly. There is no reason not to dive in nose-first.

Regarding the Constellation Taurus: I used to have a Taurus (bought in-game with aUEC in 3.23) but it got bugged out in 3.24.0 and I couldn't claim it anymore. Then when 3.24.1 went live it was gone from my fleet 😞 I really love the ship though, and if the ship ever gets on sale again during an event, I am really considering buying it in the pledge store. Very much looking forward to the rework and Gold Standard that the Constellation ships should some day receive.

I wish they would clean up that cockpit on the Aurora get rid of some of those bars going across the windshield it makes the whole view from the cockpit pretty bad be nice to see more cleanview with less obstruction

They were just sort of glued to each other; in a very bizarre sculpture artwork 😟 Pretty funny actually. If just sent them back and ordered larger items one at a time and everything was fine. ps. I used a connie to rescue myself after a bunker mission went wrong. Loaded an ursa in it and landed about 4 klicks out. I don’t know what all they can haul vehicle wise but I use them to haul my ursa and ROC around.

I use TrackIR and Tobii Eye Tracker for the head tracking that moves my view around. I switch between them every so often.

nobody is gonna go into VTOL mode just to take off lol it literally just makes you slower. vtol is for close to ground operation (not taking off) and maneuvering in combat as well.
