Glad Sweetwater was able to get your guitar issues resolved. That's a real nice guitar. I have an acoustic electric that I added a Piezo to. I couldn't get it to play nicely with the other pickup in the guitar. I saw a Mike Dawes video where he talked about his setup, and he ended up using two output jacks, one for the Piezo and one for the regular pickup. I decided to do the same, as that makes blending the sound of the Piezo with the other pickup easier to manage inside a Mixer. No weird phasing problems, and easier to dial in the right balance and tone.

Since the sale Sweetwater isn't quite the same. No 600 page catalogs twice a year or more. No more Chuck Surack in the Sweetnotes... I split my orders between AMS and SW because AMS has much more flexible financing w/o credit card plus they send you $20 off coupons in their catalogs; funkier shipping than SW but you're covered by warranty and AMS so no big deal. The only guitar I had to put in the shop was from SW despite 55 point check - they couldn't stop the 9th fret sprout and pull-up about a WEEK before warranty expired on 50s CV Tele. Took it to great luthier here in L.A. for the warranty work. 🎸

I'm so glad to see that Sweetwater was able to fix all issues so nicely !! 👍 Always loved the Parker Fly and now I'm looking forward to see it in some of your upcoming vids. Funny sidefact - I live in Frankfurt/Germany and stayed in Rochester in 2002 on a business trip. So guess where my first guitar interest driven trip there brought me to - yep exactly this Rochester "House of Guitars" store where you cleared your wonderful Parker Fly. I remember when I was there a dude played on a very nice old National Reso Guitar which I loved and all dudes out there where very friendly and helpful. All the best for the future with your new old Parker from Europe !!

David, when I saw this video's title implying SweetWater had done something to your "Most Precious Guitar" I instantly thought they had made some fantastic enhancements to an old guitar. So, I clicked to see what they did. Precisely as I suspected and more so. SweetWater did you right. Unfortunately, I failed to recognize the ruse and hoax perpetrated by the title and am unable to lament my degradation at being duped by clickbait. But now I'm on to you, David Wallimann! I will watch all your forthcoming videos, thoroughly. If I should misread the horror that is your attempt at irony or whimsicalness in the future, then I can only blame myself. Sadly, I will have again exercised a sense of humor, failing to inject a malevolent intent to manipulate me, and instead unaffectedly watched another of your instructive and entertaining videos. I like your videos, they are useful and informative. I really REALLY dislike this clickbait style of saying Sweetwater screwed up your guitar at the beginning of the video. Not that I totally bought it, but it really feels awkward and wrong. I can stand a mild clickbait, even though I usually don't go for it, but this really seems like too much. I'm from Singapore. Wish I had a story like yours but the Parker Nite Fly I bought in '97 was a nightmare...played and sounded great in shop but developed many dead spots on the neck after a few months. The retailer wasn't much of a help sold it at a big loss. The guy I sold it to came back after some time saying some frets had fallen off. Warrantee period by retailer had lapsed so they didn't care. Wrote it off as bad experience and didn't touch a Parker again though I thought their design and specs were cool. Sigh :(

I bought a new Charvel DK from Sweetwater. Included in the deal was being Plek'd. It is one of the finest sounding and playing guitars I have ever owned. I have 26 all black axes. I did receive the guitar partially disassembled and they agreed to fix it but I didn't want to take the chance of shipping a second time. They allowed me to fix it myself and make it good if I screwed it up. When I put is all right it was still perfect. I play it regularly on gigs and at home and LOVE it. No business is perfect but they DID step up tot he plate to make it right no matter what it took. Can't say enough good about them. Unfortunately I can't say the same about guitarcenter. Won't get into that but I don't do biz with them again

I'm so glad your guitar came back with new life and rocking again. The guitar closes to my heart is a Gibson SG faded T. I saved up all summer around 6 years ago for a new guitar and I wanted something really nice. Unfortunately my house got flooded so I had pay for repairs. Then about a week later I went to my grandparents house and there was a box sitting in the corner from Thomann. I didn't think anything of it but my grandfather bought it for me because he knew how badly I wanted a Gibson SG. Like you David for years I learned on it wrote songs, i wore it out and dented it the past 5 years or so but its the one guitar that I'll always pick up first and never let go.

Hi David , I bought a bc rich stealth guitar , I think in 1984 or 86 , I can’t exactly remember just now , but it was made in America , before they shifted to making them in Japan , and it has the year stamped into the back of it , so I used that guitar for 20 plus years as my main , the stealth model did not have the popularity of some other bc rich models , but it was a great guitar , it had an original kahler tremolo / whammy system , actually worked better than Floyd rose in many ways , anyway , I had to put the guitar on the shelf , mainly because the kahler system went crazy , and generally guitar needs a lot of overhauling , of course I use other guitars , but that stealth meant a lot to me , unfortunately , there is nobody in my area that can fix it , there used to be craftsman around , but not anymore , because over time , guitar wasn’t taken seriously , kids in school would learn enough to bring their grades up , but after that they would move away from guitar , so the professional guitar places went out , no business , there used to be a place near me , they would even build guitars for you , and could fix anything , in fact , many players went there , I know Steve vai went there , they built his first guitars , de Marino guitar builders , so what can I do since all the professional guitar shops are out of business ?

What a great idea to have piezo as well as magnetic pickups. It seems to me so obvious now that's the way it should be done universally. Never heard of Parker guitars before; first time. The only thing that could make this guitar better, besides Sweetwater's improvements, is a zero fret. I don't understand why not everybody use them. Not having a zero fret requires the nut to be leveled to perfection... A zero fret is a much simpler solution. Well, another huge improvement would be 24 frets, like Dean's.

I would suggest you find a local shop that specializes in plek services and is reputable. For one, you’re supporting your local businesses. Two, you don’t have to risk your guitar getting lost or damaged in shipping. And reason number three, there’s shipping costs and sweetwaters marked up prices. Reason four, sweet water is such a large scale facility, so you really want to trust your investment into an unknown? You might as well take it to guitar center. Reason five, this channel is making commission for this video and it’s promotion. This is an ad
