My family was visiting New York and my dad and I were at this show. He passed in 2019, so video from this concert is always special for me to watch. It is a great performance of the song. The solo is so expressive and is a stellar lesson on building a solo, timing, touch, phrasing, and dynamics. Brilliant!!

I think 2004 was a special year for Clapton, I don't know why but I think like this. His all performances in 2004 are amazing.

As much as hyde park and crossroad 2004 are both incredible, I have the live in 1990 with the armani suits/lace sensor pickup as the best ever ! All subjective but if you didn’t see it you need to take a look! 90s was an awesome era for clapton

I saw him on this tour in New Orleans. Best concert ever. I had floor seats next to the FOH mixing console. I was so wound up after the show I got a ticket driving home to Mississippi.

you're so right! Me to !, listened to millions of hours of Clapton Music and Solos, know every Lick of him, but this is clearly by far the most unique Solo of him ever ! And maybe forever my All-Time favorite Clapton Solo. Just compare the way it starts and the way it ends ! Just mindlowing!

Personal the top 3 song/solos. 1. Has not been played yet by Eric Clapton. 2. Eric Clapton, Queen of spades - three amazing solos on KZbin. 3. This one, Eric Clapton.. This song has everything you want in a song, drive from the rhythm and a awesome groove on the drums with great bass play. Solo has harmony, aggressiveness, patience and playful with responding the groove from the beat. Good Job 👍 ❤

Can someone break down that like at 8:34? It looks like when he speeds it up he’s keeping the lock the same but double timing the right hand?? Love it!!
@jacobagee13433 жыл бұрын
8:34-8:41 he is simply playing a very fast, descending scale. The few seconds after that, he is plucking a couple strings at a time and pulling off quickly down the scale. It’s a kind of false double stop. Prince did this a lot
@JustAnotherBlader3 жыл бұрын
Ya just the Gm pentatonic scale at the Bb root, fast triplets, no really precise picking pattern he’s just going real fast. Def not a blues thing haha closer to Ace Frehley.
