I' m An old Marine that just happened across your You Tube channel so I watched a couple of your videos. I wanted to let you know That I was in Vietnam in 1969-70 With the 26th Marine Regiment. As I was watching you and listening to your stories. It took me back to the good times that you like to remember. Even in War you find yourself having some really good times. That is hard for people that have missed the great adventure to quite understand. But I'm glad to see young men such as yourself that are telling your stories and mine at the same time. You are doing more good than you may realize. Maybe this will answer a question for you. There is not a person that I know that saw Combat and had a easy time trying to explain how you felt in a certain situation to some one that has nothing to relate it too. To this all I can tell you is the ones that have never been in combat they really seem as they are not all that interested. But you find guys that did see combat as you get older and you know them well and they know you. In my experience they are probably the best and most honest men you'll ever know. That puts you in a very good group of men that are not separated by age or time But what they lived is exactly the same and the weapons and their names change But the Men are always the same. As a rule they are the most confident and reliable friends you find anywhere. Even on You Tube ! Semper Fidelis Keep up the good work. I'll Be Watching you !!

It was a long airplane ride of about 13 hours. There was no parade if that is what you are asking . But My family and friends were all there and we were glad to see each other. I didn't get any bad treatment like a lot of others did.. But everyone has there own way of dealing with getting back from war. It helps to have close friends and a good and loving Family. And Being a Marine that's something special that last a lifetime. Thanks for asking

I'm not fully understanding how people dislike these videos. I don't wanna say unsubscribe but damn let's be honest. If you like the fishing videos he puts out and can't appreciate what he's about or has done then just leave or don't watch. This guy has done so much and for anyone to give it a thumbs down is beyond me. You like him for the main bit of content he puts out but don't like the stories he tells of the stuff he has been through that led up to where he is now in his life. Just don't understand it man. As a fellow service member I appreciate you and your sacrifice and the things you have done and continue to do. Keep going man!

Also never been in the military but served as a FF/EMT for 8 years and the things we see stick with us for a long time. It’s been 7 years since I’ve been in the department, and I still have times where certain calls appear in my head and can remember them like yesterday. Most of the ones that stick to me aren’t even the most gory or trauma calls either. The trauma came and went and was just natural that we dealt with on a regular basis. But the ones that hit the patients family emotionally hard and kids were always tough. Stay strong brotha! Nobody fights alone. #breakthestigma

Thank for all the effort you put in those videos man.You know since I was a kid I always liked watching, playing in video games or even playing with fake or BB guns.I always loved compact situations how they are described or how footage shows it.I love guns and how they are developed. Now that I'm 16 I still mention that I would love to be a recruiter and experience these situations even if they won't end well.I'm from Greece so people here are not so used to hearing me saying things like that,my friends sometimes don't believe me or they say I'm crazy lol. However,I find joy in your videos explaining these situations and I really can feel related so thank you!

I have just found your channel and have subscribed. I have watched a few of your war stories and I think you are brave and courageous to share them with us. I hardly ever comment on KZbin but this story hit a nerve with me. My family have served in the 1st WW the 2nd WW and my father served in Vietnam. My great grandfather wrote about Gallipoli and Passchendaele in Belgium and my grandfather wrote about his time in the desserts of north Africa and Italy, he left a book of his memoirs with all of this grandchildren. The best part is he explained war with out the blood and guts, but explains his adventures and expressed his pain that he felt in war. What you said towards the end of this vblog was just this. Again thank you, and I think you should write a book. Not just for the public but so that your family has a everlasting memory of your experienced in war, it so important that we all know what our family members have had to go through and experience for the privileges that we have today. All the best +LunkersTV I will have place and order for a few of your t'shirts hope you send downunder :-)

A shape charge creates what is called the Munroe effect, basically the cone shape will concentrate the explosion in a smaller area allowing it to penetrate deeper. And the reason it will suck a human through the hole is because the explosion is hot enough to burn the surrounding oxygen, since pressure always trys to equalize it will suck up anything around it.

Yo Rob, I gotta say that I appreciate your military story videos more than all you other content. don't get me wrong, I enjoy the hell out of your fishing videos..I live for fishing, but the military stories remind me of my dad who served in the Vietnam war when he was 18 - 19 and the stories he would tell me as a kid and to this day. It's just we get to see your realism when you tell your military stories compared to the goofiness of when your with your boys fishing and having a blast. Watching your videos reminds me of what is important to my life which is getting out and taking my dad fishing in his last couple years of being able to enjoy fishing since he was the one that got me into fishing when I was young. Overall he's an old traditional fisherman..bait a hook, throw it out and let it sit. I've learned a fair amount of fishing tips by watching your channel and its badass sharing what I've learned with my dad and see him build confidence using artificial baits. I recently bought some of your googan baits (slim shakes, dragon drops, and bandito bugs) and had my pops use the dragon drop, and he hooked into his pb smallie this year. Just to see how pumped he was to bring that fish into my boat was the best thing I've seen in years. So I appreciate what you do here on youtube. Keep the videos coming man. This channel is by far the one I enjoy the most. Your channel and Jon B's. And thank you for your service. If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, BBQ and beer is on me lol. #Salute

Hey brother just want to let you know that these vids kick some ass. I have mad respect for you and all our veterans who make the sacrifice that most can't do or handle. Your vids help me remember my father. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran and suffered severally from PTSD. He was a fine marine. I'll miss em' he passed away in July this year. Keep up the good work soldier.

82nd and 101st. two super stepsons. one is a West Point graduate, now a Major who spent a year or so in Tikrit Iraq. the other is a Sargent bad mo fo. did a year in Iraq at the same time as his brother, mom was a basket case , Baghdad, and later a year in Afghanistan. they tell me great stories, not their mom cause they think she will worry even though they probably arent going back, right. they tell her funny stories. my point is CONFESSION IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL. dont hold it in.

The way you describe the mortar rounds is spot on.. It is a hard thing to explain but being in a few situation myself I felt you hit the nail on the head. The slow motion, and pressure change.. I could also remember seeing the cusp of the pressure wave coming to me and then passing through me leveling the grass and dirt as the bubble passed through.

Taking artillery/mortar fire would be scarier than killing someone, since the enemy is hitting you with a weapon that you can't see, and you have no direct personal counter to. That and you hear the round get fired and you have about 3 seconds to think 'well shit, will this one land on my head?' over and over again.
