I'm 65 , I've had two strokes. Thankfully I regained talking and walking. Thank you for opening up the fear related to this.

I stumbled across your channel yesterday looking for videos on stroke caregivers and I am so thankful for discovering you and your channel. My 58 year old husband had at least 3 strokes between October 2016 and February 2020. He is now severly visually impaired, lost use of his right hand, problems with his right leg. In 2020 he spent three months in the hospital; two and a half months for his stroke and almost three weeks in regards to his sleep apnea. Which the doctors think caused his strokes. The only time he visited a psychologist was for cognitive therapy while he was in the hospital. He leaves the house only if he has an exam, otherwise he's homebound. IF he has to leave the house, his anxiety is through the roof and has panic attacks. I mentioned this to his GP, who then prescribed Xanax. What I don't get is the lack of psychological/psychiatric help automatically given to a stroke survivor. My husband isn't suicidal, but he has made the comment on more than one occassion that he is just sitting back waiting to die.

This is such a great perspective to share with us. Thank you. Also, I have said for years now that the word "should" IS a bad word - it does nothing but make one feel terrible. So use it carefully!

Thank you brother. I feel this now 2 1/2 years later… it’s so frustrating. I don’t know what to do, but just continue to hang in and grind.

This video hit alot of valid points I'm 43 and had my stroke exactly 1 year ago but I've come a long way thus far and still have so far to go, but I definitely felt that I should have died versus dealing with the drastic change of my life not being able to walk or use of my left haand/arm, I was feeling like I'm being punished

I had a stroke at 30 i'm now 46 . My left hand does not work I still have trouble walking. My left foot toes still curl under and ever step hurts. I have had trouble applying for jobs . I think it's because I've been unemployed for so long.

I genuinely believe that every human must have the right to peacefully end his life. The right to die must be granted just like the right to live.

I've had two significant strokes 16 years apart, very VERY fortunately I had exceptionally immediate and comprehensive care. In the second stroke I spent two nights in which most of the caregivers thought I was on the knife edge. It has been a struggle, but things are working out AND GETTING BETTER. Any time you go through "I should have died", you have turned a corner and YOU DIDN"T DIE.

I never even thought that. It is so weird the variations in post stroke attitude. I came out ready to go despite being told I’d be in a chair for life. I just started setting micro goals and achieving them, this in turn boosts my confidence…..Oh and I did actually die and was resuscitated..Ain’t stroke fun…
