I feel you deliberately didn't make a song about fidget spinners so you could make this instead

I feel... hmm he made this instead, so he could not deliberately make a song about fidget spinners. And I know my joke is just a simple inversion here, but... isn't that the -- the, point...?
@StevenFramed5 жыл бұрын
I'm saying jokes are basically easy (when you're good at making them); and you made an easy observant joke here; and so did I. THAT'S all I was saying. It's ah... post-modern-modern humor yo... Ya Know..?

Hot Dad, I recently visited the universe in which you made a song about fidget spinners at the most opportune moment. It was a great success and you became a famous boy. Unfortunately, spiders were the size of dogs in that universe so I thought it best to leave. I'm considering visiting a universe soon where you ended up making a long version of "Weed the Bong". It is a moderate inconvenience to travel across universes, you see. Please save me the trouble and make my dreams come true in this universe. Love and Respect, A Dad of Lesser Attractiveness

@seymourglass266 жыл бұрын
It's glorious instead of mocking, but it still scratches that humorous itch. In an age when it's so easy to be a snarky asshole, this is incredibly refreshing. It's like hearing Weird Al for the first time all over again. Just substitute synth pop for Al's polka and toss in a dash of Tim and Eric for good measure (mainly the chill vocals).
@seymourglass266 жыл бұрын
Subversion of expectations is important to all art. And Hot Dad knows way too much about pop music (especially 80s and electropop) for his own good. His hooks are incredible. You expect garbage, but get a tidal wave of beauty.

you're really great and thank you for sharing this!!! it's funny, because i would argue i'm trying to exist somewhere _between_ serious music and ironic/parody songs (i don't even know if it can actually be done, i just "try to do it"), like exactly the thing you're describing. it's definitely a gray area, and i think it's an interesting thing to explore in music!!
