I should have thought of this at the start... and a new Fridge! Drawer system improvements DIY

Being somewhat of a perfectionist, I can't seem to leave well enough alone... so already I'm looking at changing my rear drawers! We have used this setup a heap now and have found a few areas that could be improved and added too.
I also finally moved to an upright fridge! Full story in the video.
From here it will be a few videos going through the process of making my vision into a reality, DIY in the shed without specialist tools.

I went a Evakool 40ltr drawer fridge to replace a chest fridge and its the best thing I've done. Even the kids can pull in and out with one hand. Picked it up 2nd hand for $600 half the price of a new one looks like new as it was only 3 months old

Yeah the drawer fridges are a cool thing. We tried them out a while back but it didn't really suit us, but they are becoming increasingly popular in the 4WD scene now.

Great video Todd. I originally came across your channel cause you had a 120. I also have a 120 and maybe some day will be able to upgrade to a 200. I love how you plan things out and give it a go! I am seriously considering a kings upright to replace the 3 way in the old Jayco I have. For the price and the warranty offered I think its a great product. Also Im glad you have the lapel mic. Makes your videos even better! Keep up the great work!

$600 and 5yr warranty - you cant go wrong. We're looking to undertake a similar change - I wasnt aware of a Kings version but now that I am....!

Yeah its a huge reason to choose this one over other options. Perhaps there are some drawbacks, but honestly I haven't found any and I'll definitely be keeping everyone up to date with the long term reliability of this fridge.

One thing ive noticed with having a $500 rough country fridge vs my national luna fridge, is the insulation my old one never faulted as in turning off or overheating....but wasnt the best in high temps, but with my new fridge i can see it holds temps much better, uses less power etc (3.5amps vs 1) and just bulid quality....thats what id be curious with insulation etc vs bushman

Thats very true, and without destroying the panels we won't know really. But because my fridge is in the back of the 200 and not in a hot canopy, it stays relatively insulated already. So far power consumption has been much less too, going from 2.5Ah with my ARB 60l to 1Ah with the upright fridge (average figures over a 24 hour period). Time will tell, and i'll do a full review in 12 and 24 months, but so far I feel like I'm onto a winner.

The 2 fridges were coming out of the same factory in China so I heard from a couple of fridge mechanics thats why they were identical. That is why they had to do a few cosmetic changes as they were threatened with a lawsuit. But for God sake don't say that to a Bushmans fridge owner unless you want to see someone loose their shit

Yeah I had heard that description too. If I was willing to lose $600 to disect this fridge and a Bushmans I reckon there would be bugger all difference, especially not enough to warrant a $900 price difference. But these fridges haven't been out for long so perhaps there will be some sort of longevity problem, we don't know. But with a 5 year warranty and only $600 paid, I'm happy to test it out for others to learn from.

Sounds a bit like the snomaster console fridge and the XTM console fridge. Xtm is less than half the price of the snomaster.
