The scenery in this presentation was amazing. This was interesting start to finish. Although I hate your drone became a submarine. But very informative and quite an adventure. I’ve been considering one of those newer GoPros that have the built-on mic. I’m still using a Hero7…

I'm guilty of saying, "it'll be fine" many times, and usually it is fine. But sometimes it's catastrophically not fine lol. Sorry for your loss. But hey, how many people get to do what you did in a place like that? Congrats on the wedding! 😁

Lose an action cam too ?? That 2nd flight was risky . Hopefully it becomes part of a dive reef attraction

Ahhh man, I know that feeling. I lost two Quads , one in a river ,one in the ocean. Felt like I lost a pet. Wife said that’s it you’re not getting another drone! Well I got another one . Not flying over water ever …
@Sugar_K2 жыл бұрын
ohh lols that's a one trip per pack mission... also 6" is a good place for this kinda flying as you can get much more speed at a lot less throttle and amps... unfortunately 5" is not very efficient for any kinda ranging. lastly GPS is a minimum.. i ( when I go ranging ) might only fly one or 2 packs at the spot and when your going out 2-5kms in places you don't know having the home arrow is a MUST

Always attach a plastic bottle or something ellse that makes ur quad floats when u fly over water.

Hi Darren, I have a question about this frame Foxeer Aura 5 Pro, the picture of your miniature is Aure with Freestyle VTX? Was it really fit to this frame? Thank you in advance
@DarrenAllatt Жыл бұрын
Yes it does fit - I have a Free Workshop on my website - www.darrenfpv.com/planhdzero5inch
@tk-maker2 жыл бұрын
Nice place, you should waterproof coat everything, I use CRC PLASTICOTE 70 (spray it into nail polisher bottle as storage) for ESC, FC, camera, camera lens and VTX including connectors but excluded barometer & mic. It is almost waterproof and i did flew it under rain.
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
Great tip! I will have to do that if I fly over water again!

Ahh man, First things first, Congratulations on your wedding!! As far as the lost Aura goes, man that sucks.. I know the feeling regarding making a dumb mistake and paying for it. I took my Five33 Footy with my Hero 8 for a flight a few weeks ago, and armed the quad in channel 8, and figured it out about 100 feet above concrete.. I tried to recover in LOS, but had gotten far enough away that I lost orientation and mashed on the throttle while inverted.. lol. I exploded my hero 8, the vista, the nebula pro cam, a motor, several frame parts, and the movement of the Vista bashed into the fc and esc, hitting a couple plugs which tore the traces back 1/3 of the way into the boards, not to mention knocking off caps and whatnot. All because I didn't take the time to do a decent pre-flight check. You kept a cool head in the video, and did a good job not blaming Foxeer. I really liked the video. So did you lose the Insta360 cam then??
@DarrenAllatt Жыл бұрын
Yeah the Insta360 Go2 is Gone to the bottom of the ocean with the drone. That sucks, if it makes you feel any better flying LOS with a quad is difficult
@devliegendecameraman Жыл бұрын
This was both interesting and painful to watch, haha. Had me hooked though. No GPS and no voltage indicator, doing it once wouldn't even come to mind, doing it twice... meh that's crazy haha. A lesson I learned about mid/long range is, is the view/ trip worth it losing your quad + action cam? Yes? Go for it! No or already have the footy? Skip. Nice video though!

I still dont even understand how you could fix the dron but awesome wokr man. I would like to see a video with advices and recomendatios on how fly on a plane and travel with a drone. I had some problems with batteries and regulations, and you could even have your solder, I am surprised.

I flew recently to Punta Cana with 2 drones (fpv and dji mini 2): 3 lipos and 3 dji batteries, everything inside a fireproof bag
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
I will have to look into that, but it wouldn't be much of a video. The only issue was check-in in Sydney after I told them I had drone batteries. From that point, security included no one cared. Soldering Iron, Solder & Toolkit were all in checked luggage. Lipo's, Radio, Charge, Drone, Goggles were all in Carry-on.
@gabrielfica85362 жыл бұрын
Yes, lipos must be on carry on luggage
@gabrielfica85362 жыл бұрын
In fpv nothing works like you're expecting to... So I always fly very carefully, I wouldn't take the second trip as I know some batteries drop faster than others in the last %... Was a risky decision. Thank for share and congrats!
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was too cocky about the second trip too, and I knew that I was cocky about it as well.
@jpslayermayor92932 жыл бұрын
Looks like a great place to fly. No worries about the crash, thats what 5 inch freestylers do, how you dealth with the issues post crash are useful for your subscribers to learn. From your goggles video you should have been able to locate and dive for the quad especially if the Go pro was on it. Not sure the depth but the island indicate 20 feet or less depth
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
The light blue water is the reef, however after that the drop off is pretty deep, at least 50m.. so crashing in the dark blue is in the deep part of the water so no change of rescue.
@iFlyFR2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why you would go for a second run , a ussual 5 inch does 4-5 mins max and you were already at 3mins ,so I don't understand why you thought it was a good idea?

I believe he tought he had bigger battery, so he expected that one would last lot longer.

When I texted flight times at home I got 8mins with the 6S 1800mah, so being at 4mins with a 2.5min round trip, thought I’d have time to spare to go out and back again.

Ok, now be honest: did you “take a drone on your honeymoon”, or did you marry a drone?
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
Haha, good one! No, I didn't marry a drone (although that would make for an interesting wedding ceremony). I actually did take a drone on my honeymoon though - it was a great way to capture some unique and beautiful shots of our trip. And don't worry, my Wife was there too!
