@eew129 жыл бұрын
PANTHER PANTS Obviously it's common sense, but sometimes you need to see something like this to give you a little push. I'm a dentist who has been an associate in an office for 5 years. I make good money doing what I'm doing, but I always wanted to own my own office. I've felt stuck lately. Moving on isn't an easy thing to do, but I'm starting to think it's time. Sometimes all it takes is a little cardboard inspiration. ;)

I like my comfortable job as an acute geriatric psychiatric nurse, with a great pay and benefits. I learn every day treating different patients every day. Especially in mental health, each day is soon different, and a different problem to solve. But I feel comfortable because I have my general routine day to day on the unit, which makes me feel confident going into work. This routine of course is sometimes thrown out the window when a Code White or Blue happens- but I love that part too, keeps me on my toes and my adrenaline going! I am building my seniority and my pay increases every year. Even though I am comfortable I would hate to have to switch jobs and loose seniority every couple years. Maybe one day I'll decided to get my masters of nursing and get into administration but that will be when I am old and unable to keep up with the physical aspect of my job! thought I would add my opinion too! Thanks for the blog Casey! -Erin

The job scenario could be applied to cameras too - embrace whatever limitations you think your current camera might have, and don't buy the next (better/ more expensive camera) until you've squeezed every little bit of production value out of the current one. Once you've learned everything you can and your production value starts to plateau, then buy the next one.

@RyanSapienzaFilms9 жыл бұрын

@Fjalll9 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with the comfort zone?
@NicknameGrant9 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Fjäll absolutely nothing. Some people are too old to change the comfort zone, and that's fine. Like my father for example. Hes reached a point in his career where he can't keep moving from job to job trying to gain experience because he already HAS that experience. What Casey seems to really want to be saying here, is to be aware of what you're doing. Don't get a job and just sit with it for the rest of your life, especially if you're young.
@lucasmulinari70969 жыл бұрын
I'm not just talking about the job, but try new challenges to get new experiences. For example: if I like chocolate and always ask the same chocolate, because I know the taste of chocolate and enjoy it, I will never discover new tastes, new experiences. Sometimes we need to change, feed our spirit, life is short.

Sugar is a huge addiction for everybody. Casey, you've got to substitute sugar with something else or you are going to continue to fail. I know it sound corny but it works. Substitute it with Fruit; Pineapple, Apples, Tangerines, Oranges, Pears, Bananas. Whatever you like, just eat it when you feel a sweet tooth coming up. For me, Satsuma Tangerines (they're very sweet) or Naval Oranges or slices of Pineapple really do the trick. :)

I think Casey's graph is missing two huge factors. Happiness and stress. Once you have reached a level at a company and your value is not going up BUT your happiness is high and stress is low. That is what is truly important in life. However that is just my opinion.

Finding ways to add value to whatever work you have is usually the way to go up that slope. How can I add value as a McDonalds employee, how can I add value as a UPS truck driver, how can I add value as middle management. Answering that question usually takes work. That work is what moves you up and what people recognize.

NO HATE INTENDED. Who is this guy, and how does he have nearly 2.2 million subs?
@Byrrl19 жыл бұрын
He has nearly 2.2 million subs because Mr. Neistat is a videography MASTER!!!!

+cFilms Seriously, though. Google says he's a film maker, with two films I've never heard of to his credit. What did he do to become so popular?

+dogbite clearly you didnt do every good research lol

+Mighty White Integra No, I didn't dig very deep. The article I skimmed made mention of an early exposè regarding iPhones then kinda glossed over the rest, to his current popularity. I was hoping one of his fans could paint a clearer picture for me.

+dogbite I'm curious too. Not to disrespect him or anything, this video just showed up in my recommended video feed. Kinda want to know what the fuss is about lol.

He combines entertainment with informative content then edits his videos with cool music, quick cuts and imparts a message he feels strongly about which resonates with people. He knows how to make videos that go viral. Whether he pays KZbin or not is beyond my knowledge.

Casey that was a perfect explanation of the job subject. I was working at a company for little over three years and just two days ago I changed my job to something more challenging.

2:29 This is the truth. Never stop growing until you've found the job that you love. A job that continuously challenges you, you get up everyday excited to go to work, and it may not be the most important...but important none the less is a job that pays the bills.

CASEY. This video helped me decide to quit my job. THANK YOU. I mean it. I've been thinking about for awhile, I just feel so burnt out and bored, but unfortunately I'm a slave to the $. Thank you for helping me make the decision and take the risk, you are wonderful. Hopefully it all works out.
