Minis are mighty fine! You need a parking lot next to your garage for all your mini cars. I've built 4 wide ice cream truck, double decker bus, VW bug and bus from LEGO instructions. Looking forward to your next build and post!

It's so minute you wouldn't be able to cover a water biscuit with it! I love how it still retains every bit of the soul of the original building! I really like your concept, and so far this is my favourite of the two you made. Can't wait to see the next one (Police Station, or Brick Bank, or anything really)

A lot of people underestimate the amount of work needed to adapting a set into something else. Really great work! One question: Are you managing to just use the parts of the original set, or is the size reduction forcing to use smaller sizes that don't exist in the set?
@ThePlasticArchitect
@ThePlasticArchitect Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the appreciation! It's a really cool challenge! for the daily bugle I ended up using a ton of parts from my extensive parts collection and it was significantly easier in comparison to the Corner Garage. Because I built it away from my parts collection (I had a few pieces) it took me twice as long. Im hoping once I'm a bit more settled this summer with a better studio space I can record some of these challenges!
@JRodonBricks

@The Plastic Architect Cool! The Daily Buggle also has more straight lines, so it seems easier to solve the outside part. The modulars with all their architectural details are for sure much harder to shrink without them losing their 'personality". I'm looking forward to the next ones.

This is such a good idea and concept. I currently live in a small space and I only have room to display about 3 modulars on a shelf and a few tinier vehicles. Anything more than that and it starts to look cluttered. The rest of my sets I keep in bins underneath my bed/in my closet and I switch them out with others throughout the year when I feel like displaying something else.

I love the idea and design of your mini modulars. I would really consider removing all stairs and elevators and give yourself maximum space to have fun doing mini interiors too. I'll be honest but opening them up just to see stairs is a real let down and I can't image it's fulfilling to actually build. Mocs are about expressing a vision/theme and less so the logistics of stairs (Esp. at this scale) and I really think it could hold your enjoyment back long term.
@ThePlasticArchitect
@ThePlasticArchitect Жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree more! It was such a challenge for the stairs and I don’t think the pay off was worth it at all. Especially in this build where the interior square footage is even smaller

another great piece of work! you really did capture all the details that make the corner garage what it is. well done. and yes the police station enxt would be great. Question are you actually shrinking down you the sets or ordering parts to make these versions?
@ThePlasticArchitect
@ThePlasticArchitect Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've done a bit of both For the Daily Bugle I actually have two sets but I used TONS of pieces from my own parts collection. For the Corner Garage, I built the full size one, tore it down, and built the new one with very few parts pulled from my parts collection.

Suggestion: for future modulars where there are multiple stores in one building, maybe turn them into part of the main store. For instance: Instead of keeping the animal hospital, you turn it into a place to store tires and tools for the garage. Then you can make your own animal hospital and other B-shops in the future when you become more experienced with moc-building.
