I absolutely love this song and I started listening to it in 1980: the movie came out but also believe it or not when I was teaching preschool music for graduation. I used this song with the kids and not only did they sing it they pretended to be playing violins in and so much more, and it was amazing and I wish I had it on tape. This song makes me happy if I’m in a cranky, irritable mood or anything negative. I can just listen to this and cheers me up

I have watched at least 50 versions of this song as I just love it... = aside from the original and perhaps the grammy one a few years ago i would say this is one of the best, of the very best. I wonder how it would have gone on a larger stage (for the dancers).. one of the very best overall ensambles. = Kudos to ALL

The best cover I've heard from this song, for me even better than the one in the picture "Fame" because the director knew how to equilibrate the second part (instrumental), where the arrangements of this song tend to get discordant with the first part (the vocals). It's difficult to get such an equilibrium, but here it was done.

Nothing wrong with you liking this performance. How you can say this mess is better than the original is beyond me. The vocals were awful, and the “dancing” nothing but gymnastics. The orchestra…right on point! Amazing!!!
