Story 1: He didn't drop the baby on accident, he was neglectful, left your child in a dangerous position, said position proved to be dangerous, and is blaming you. Divorce him, there's no saving this relationship. Cant see a reason why'd you want to anyways. The next "accident" he causes could be fatal

To be fair, I know we don’t condone violence or anything, but if someone knowingly or negligently caused harm to my child I would definitely physically lash out. Like it would take a lot for me not to, and I’m not saying it’s right I’m just saying at that point I wouldn’t be thinking about that. Yikes.

@beepboop83742 ай бұрын
First story deserves worse than a slap and a divorce. He was more concerned about gaslighting his wife than trying to make sure his infant was okay or even showing any signs of remorse or fear for their life. That’s literally all the red flags it could possibly be. That kid’s life is in danger around him, and mom’s could be too if she stays, things escalate quickly in these situations. When someone is doubling down that they didn’t do anything wrong and your reaction to the thing is actually the wrong part… it tells you all you need to know. She should leave.
@availanila2 ай бұрын
Yeah, the gaslighting and DARVO-ing was strong with that one. He dropped a baby from a high place, was drinking while alone with a baby, left a baby in a car seat, left a baby alone, didn't take the child immediate for first aid, put wife under duress on account of him hurting his baby, blamed wife for him hurting his own baby and made the wife being a mature productive parent a vice to minimise his fault for harming his wife but a slap is too far?? This OP probably wants to repair things because this man has been turning everything against her to the extent she's not certain of her own virtue.
@beepboop83742 ай бұрын
@ I’m willing to bet he’s been pissed off about having to “babysit” and this was somewhat preplanned. Because women are supposed to do all the child rearing and dads are supposed to work and then have the rest of their time to drink and play video games, right? So he probably was expecting to use it as a “see I told you this was supposed to be your job because you’re better at it.” Maybe even, the child didn’t actually fall, and he lied about it to be like “see I told you all this would happen” and when she reacted how she did he realized he didn’t as much control over her as he thought. He probably thought she would panic and quit her job to stay home and she instead read him for filth and is contemplating divorce and has a job so she CAN support herself and the baby… and he’s realizing she called his bluff and he’s SOL.
@laurag5022 ай бұрын
she needs to leave, the baby is not safe with him and he’s proven that. a parent that is drinking while alone with the baby is also at an increased risk for shaking the baby. he should not be alone with the baby at least until he can sober up. disgusting.
@Nathan_Bookwurm2 ай бұрын
This is aweful! All of it. Leaving the baby alone in an unsafe place, not bringing them to the emergency room, drinking whole day around kids and then blaming the mother. I don't believe their marriage has been good until this incident.

Welp…I guess I have to tell my viral fart story. My now husband and I were having a VERY serious discargument (argument we were pretending was chill). I am now diagnosed with IBS and severe anxiety, but back then I was just rawdogging life and gastrointestinal issues. I was stressed out from the fight and my stomach started to cramp. The windows were open and I thought that I could sneak out an anxious fart. At the precise time that I let loose, a big rig slammed on its brakes on the freeway near us, making a loud screech. Mere seconds later the smell hit. Maybe god stays in heaven for fear of my ass. I cannot begin to describe it to you. Think of the worst smell you’ve ever smelled, now imagine a sick dog. It was worse than that. As she smelled assaulted my man’s nostrils, I could see revulsion fill his face. With a loud “ugh” he half shouted “what the FUCK was wrong with that big rig?!” Folks, I could have gotten away with it, except I am vastly immature, farts are hilarious. So as I’m silently crying of laughter my husband feels the car vibrating and he slowly turns his WHOLE body towards me and with a mixture of disgust, pride, and a little fear he said “my god, that was YOU?!” Fight over, we couldn’t stop laughing

It’s funny because I actually listened to a Reddit story read by smosh the other day and well, there was a biomedical woman who was never taught how to put in a tampon correctly and would leave in the plastic of the applicator. There was another person that used to use it as a hotdog (like what a commenter said 😂) because these things aren’t taught properly. I think that schools need to give more education to everyone about the ovulation cycle.

Story 1…Divorce and treatment plan is the correct answer, but the mom needs therapy too, imo. There is likely a pattern of abusive and neglectful behavior, probably related to his drinking, that’s eroded her boundaries. That’s probably why she’s questioning if the relationship can be saved instead of saying it needs to be over. She needs therapy to come to terms that this treatment isn’t okay and work on reestablishjng her boundaries.

Story 1: definitely leave him and only supervised visitation for him. That guy is only out for himself and I wouldn't put it past him to end that child under the guise of an "accident", if it suited his needs. Maybe he resents that he needs to look after the child so much and hadn't anticipated the amount of work that goes into raising children. It's possible he's subconsciously harming this child because they're an inconvenience to what he REALLY wants to do. Totally gives the vibes of that one dad who left his kid in the car for hours in the Arizona sun while he played video games (was also drinking). Leaving kids in the car was a habit with him. Unfortunately, she passed away, I believe she was 2, and they charged him with homicide. The thing that really made me think that this was either intentional or he didn't care what happened to the baby (intentional neglect) is that he didn't take the child immediately to the ER and didn't even monitor the child, leaving them in another room. If that child had a concussion, the worst thing you can do is leave them unattended in another room, allowing them to fall asleep. There's no fixing things with a person like this. He's a narcissist and will never admit/believe he's the issue. Run and keep your baby safe.

Lmao. Commented on the first story... then got to the mushroom fart story and had to comment again. I am indeed currently on shrooms. I microdose to help with fibromyalgia, depression, other chronic illnesses...so it's not like I'm tripping. Lol. Though that might be fun... watching you guys on a full trip. As for the farts question, could definitely have been the shrooms. In the beginning, I would always need to take imodium with shrooms because they would do a real number on my intestines. Took quite a while, but these days I can skip the imodium, I guess I built up a tolerance after repeatedly exposing myself to it. Followed the Sean rule a bit...lol...(do not do this with allergies that may lead to anaphylaxis... lol). Anyway, I recently discovered you guys and loving the content. I am a 45 year old single mom and used to be married to a real abusive narcissistic AH (left 13 years ago and it was simultaneously the most dangerous and best decision I've made in my life) ...so many of the toxic relationship stories are unfortunately relatable. Thank you for having decent human being takes on what constitutes abuse and not continuing to gaslight women like these other podcast bros. In a really f-ed up world, it gives me hope to see men like you exististing and speaking on these issues. At the same time, you guys are also entertaining... bonus! Love the humor. Thank you for doing what you do. ❤

I usually go into these stories assuming they're true, even if they're not, in order to assess the scenario. But the first story consistently broke my illusion of believable immersion with what was being delivered by the OP. First off was the "we were pretty happy, everything was normal and fine", which already sounds like a fat lie given everything that comes after it. Husband leaves a cryptic message to "come home" without even citing an emergency, hangs up, and OP doesn't call back to press him on it. She proceeds to acquiesce as though her workplace just lets her off the hook with such a nonchalant request from her husband. She comes home and immediately their "happy and normal" relationship goes straight to the late stages of an abusive relationship without even a pre-existing sign. OP then somehow gets him to willingly admit, despite his self-righteous attitude, that he was objectively wasting time in an entire different part of the house. Such an audacious admission of irresponsibility that he's trying to pass off as being "justified" is wild for a couple who've been "pretty normal" this entire time. Usually a husband would need to gaslight and belittle his wife for a good length of time to where she's brainwashed enough into thinking he'd maybe get away with his excuses. And the last reason the story doesn't seem credible is in its very matter-of-fact writing style which, quite frankly, doesn't match the tone of the situation or OP's reactive nature as indicated by the events of the story. I'm willing to do discourse on potential fiction, but it at least needs to be realistic writing that I can analyze like a well-written on-screen drama.

And my teacher literally came down stairs to the music class and told me I was no longer allowed to go on the class field trip (that I already paid for) since “I couldn’t behave in class” I asked her what? And she said “you farted and got the class out of control. You won’t be allowed to go.” My mom had to go to the school to tell her to let me go since I had a natural body function. 1st story Not okay to lay hands. We would be outraged if genders were reveresed. But the husband fucked up on multiple levels. Also not mentioned in the story, but as a PSA, NEVER leave a baby unbuckled in a car seat. They can suffocate themselves if they drop their head down and don't have enough strength to sit up straight again.

This! Not only is it a fall risk but it’s a huge suffocation risk.
