Hello Everyone! I covered my bedroom windows with black tarp and blackout curtains. Ever since I did that, I sleep very soundly. I do keep nightlights and battery run candles for lights. So glad to hear that you are warmer! Another great way to keep cold drafts out on windows is to wrap plastic around the whole perimeter of the window. They sell them at Lowes/HD/Walmart. I've had to do that by the open fireplace grill to keep out the cold and I taped all around it and it has been a great way to keep the cold wind out. Yah bless and keep you safe! 🙏

I notice small things a lot and I noticed how when you were pouring your canned soup into the pot you placed a spoon underneath to catch the chunks so that they don't cause splatter (I assume) I like how you did that. I don't eat canned soup often but next time I do I'll try that lol relaxing video as always. Prayers for continued strength and peace.

The soup looks good. Glad you can enjoy your nice dishes. Glad you can have a hot shower. I should try covering my windows. I sleep on the lower level, and it is very cold here.

IMHO, I fear most Americans are about to fall on very hard times. I believe those of us that are less fortunate are going to need to stick together and help each other. Think Great Depression poverty. Homelessness is becoming criminalized. SNAP, SSI etc are going to be reduced or greatly eliminated. Imported foods such as coffee are going to become more expensive. PLEASE PEOPLE, let us find ways to help each other. I would like to take in unhoused people. I have done so in the past, but my neighbors created such an uproar that I had to stop. The city even has ordinances on how many unrelated people can live in a dwelling and it doesn’t matter the size of the dwelling.

Emergency blankets at Walmart in sporting goods, very cheap reflect heat back at you put between blankets. They only cost a few dollars and work really well.
@donotRussiamyMerica4 күн бұрын
I haven’t required one lately, but I have slept with an emergency blanket between myself and the mattress.

Couscous is a good food also. Just soak in boiling hot water for 6 mins. Then spice it up. Hugs xxxx ❤

Great video as always Dia. Are you staying at an RV park with the new travel trailer or do you move around and park elsewhere? x

Is there a scrapyard near you? They will buy cans steel and aluminum. It may not be practical. You would need to clean, separate and store them. Likewise, I know people who collect scrap metal. Craigslist and Facebook may have things people are giving away: bed frames, etc. that can be scrapped. Likewise, sometimes they have free food, clothes and household items. In my area, I’ve seen roosters, goats, pigs available for free. It’s free food for someone who wants to take the time to butcher them.

Glad you're staying warm. 😊 Curious, without being hooked up to water how do you wash your dishes?
@DiasFrugalLife4 күн бұрын
I bring water in (refill water jugs) and heat water up. And clean the dishes.

Be careful with them canned soups girl, I used to eat those and these pouches of lentils from Costco until I noticed the sodium content it's outrageous.

Can I ask you to do an experiment for me...? I have wondered for about a decade now...if the items that are left plugged in but not in use, draw electricity. Could you please plug in ur power strip and turned have it off, and check your Bluetti (spl?), then turn off your power strip and see of it still draws power. Please 🙏 I need to put this question to bed and out of my head....
@donotRussiamyMerica4 күн бұрын
It depends on the item. My microwave with an electric display and clock definitely draw electricity. A standard coffee maker without a display would not. Most TVs do because they are made to start instantly rather than gradually.
