Standard today is overloaded with super-pushed, power-creepy creatures-Atraxa, Etali, Sheoldred, massive Dinosaurs-so today, we're going to punish our opponent for playing these busted bombs by using some random uncommons to steal their creatures, smack our opponent with them to get in some damage, and then sacrifice them for value! My standard rule of thumb is that I should have at least one basic land for each color of mana I'm playing. That way, Field of Ruin and similar effects cannot colorscrew me. Ideally, I'd have one basic land for the maximum number of pips of any particular color among my cards. For example, if the hardest thing I have to cast is 2WW, then I'd have at least two plains in the deck. This is a bit harder with 3+ colors, though, so it's generally only a rule for 2 color decks.

Dammit Seth. Three games into playing Arena today and I immediately spot that someone is playing a clone of this deck. Locked out my game by knowing what they were up to, but not being able to play my creatures that buff my creature lands killed me.

Everyone IS playing the best creatures, immediately on the most aggressive curve they can - in a format that basically does have mana leak too! I love the narrative of the Market Gnome getting invited to two weddings and getting so pumped up by it that he can put fear into a planeswalker. This l'il robot just scooting around handing people hors d'oeuvres and each time he convinces a vampire to eat a deviled egg the light in his eyes gets just a tiny bit brighter.

You should also run Urabrask's Forge as an alternate sac so you can get your card draw with the journal or another counter with Bart.

My guess is that it allows for more flexibility when editing, or so he can tell which video the clip was for. As a real-life example, people that spend a lot of time answering voice mail usually start every voice mail they leave with their name and phone number so then people don't have to listen to the whole message again to get to the end to get the number

one of my favorite standard decks was a derpy thing i made years ago where i would combine act of treason, bazaar trader, viscera seer, abyssal persecutor, etc. it was a lot of fun permanently stealing primeval titans.

This deck I've made in Rakdos before but Mardu is a lovely flair on it. The big issue is that they never think with Etali that you can target your own creature and give them haste like, why not do that the games would've turned out different I feel if 7 damage hasters were used lol

When I started to play Magic, the first thing I did was buid a deck with Catch // Release and sac outlet to Catch lands, creatures, planeswalkers ... Anything and sac them to draw. You could even use the land you stole as it untapped. My deck building skills were not great at the time tho :/

I love the apple in commander. Had some wild turns with Megatron when it hits the field. Borrow the fattest thing on the field, sac the apple to megatron, kill a random thing, transform Megatron and hit for big damage that gets turned into mana.

This deck pops up from time to time. When it's good, it's good. Buddy of mine showed up with a B/R version back in the day of States. They are more frustrating than control decks sometimes. At least they'll end the game as fast as you let them.

Something you seemed to miss with Twisted Fealty is that the Wicked Role can go on Target Creature not Your Creature so you should be buffing what you steal when its low creature count boardstates

I've been playing a similar deck the last few weeks but it's UR, realized "if everyone is playing huge bombs, why not steal them?" Then saw there are no less than 12 threaten effects you can put in a deck! I use the red one mana fling adventure. It's so much fun 😅 Yours definitely has a better plan for what happens when they don't play creatures though. Control is nearly unwinnable.

I play the same strategy, but with the Ayara that transforms, and Kethek. The only problem is that Arena "casually" almost always puts me against opponents that use a lot of hexproof like effects or token decks (I play Historic Brawl), and I'm barely aver able to steal any significant creature.

In that one match seth started with 4 lands in hand, and out of 13 cards drawn 8 were lands. 2 lands were also fetched out from demolition field. So he managed to see 16/23 lands in that match Im also going to be unfair and call it an early scoop, i think it would be worth to see if opponent misplayed with cards they didnt put in their deck and see no play. And if they do see it your dead in 30 sec not a big time investment
