Dude! You made an awesome choice. Evo's rock, man. I did the same over a year ago... Swapped my 2012 103 heritage for a 1994 80 inch heritage softail. It was a little bit of a culture shock to me, but have grown to love that bike. I'd do it all over again given the chance. The vibration is part of it. It's kind of an acquired taste. But you've got a motor where the sky is the limit as far as parts and mileage. Good score man!! Rocking it!! Oh and by the way... New sub to!

In my opinion, the Evo engine is the best HD ever produced. Not as much power as today's M-8 engines but one that never gave me a problem. All I did was change the cam to a Crane 490 and S&S E model and it was perfect.

I own a 1997 fatboy and it is basically same except it has the two shocks under the frame and has the double swing arm. About a leaky rocker box cover. Heres my experienced mechanic trick. If its the two gaskets from the top this method will work. You must use permatex number 2 and only this type. Wipe the area well, then take the permatex#2 and push into the gap with your thumb, the legend here is that if it can leak oil from the inside, then a oil based sea;er can press in, so just press it into the groove, then leave it for around 10 hours and that leak will stop. Permatex #2 is oil based and never gets so hard that it cracks and the oil in it penetrates where oil was coming out. Other than that, make sure your rocker bolts arent loose

Dude Take my word (YOU MUST) replace the cam bearing if it hasn't been done already. Some bikes of these years have a cam bearing with a very high failure rate. I've had two friends with 97 Road Kings that ruined their EVO engines both at less than 50k miles. for a $10 bearing. My 97 has had the bearing replaced already and I'm still loving it at 61000 miles. you mentioned the air shocks in your video. I believe the first 150 pounds is 0 then one pound for every 30 pounds over I'm a big guy around 285 and only run about 6 pounds in mine front and rear. get yourself a pump made for the air suspension if you don't have one already.. lastly if you want your road king to handle much better, and ignore grooved pavement get yourself a true track stabilizer. Your gonna love this bike after you make it your own. I could buy a new one tomorrow, buy honestly, Im in love with my 97. I call her "Eva" . You'll be naming yours soon. they're that special. Good luck with your new bike my friend. CHANGE THAT CAM BEARING STAT!!!!!!!

Remove the baffles, take out the packing and reinstall the baffles before you spend coins on the pipes. A 2 into 1 exhaust will give you better performance. I've had a 98 FLHR for 22 years. I've replaced virtually everything on it over the years. Added 6 speed, 111 cu inch S&S. I've been all over the nation on it, not all 48 states, but a bunch of them. Might want to ditch the spokes for mags in case of a flat tire on a trip. In case you are wondering, 72 mph @3000 rpm. I've done 80 mph all day on the old 80 inch Evo on some trips. Ride the crap out it, you won't hurt it. Recently bought a a 99 FLHR as a spare bike for my oldest son to ride with me. Great fun. Enjoy your new bike.

After watching your exhaust videos for the SG you had and the Road King video updates, all I can say is two things. 1. You should of left the stock headers on the SG, those Zombie TABs would sound perfect (my 2019 SG 107 has that setup so I know first hand). You were struggling to find the setup you had, satisfying. I’ve heard many M8 bikes with headers and zombie’s and the sound just had the wrong tone. Sound janky if anything. 2. You threw out WAY too much money for that old Road King. That S&S motor will fail you a lot more than it already has and as you now know the “bait and switch” warranty is a joke. Next to the fact that you’re gonna probably have to stick more money into other areas of the bike as the age will catch up with it soon. I would of kept the SG. Anyways, that’s all my opinion. You make great content, and you’ve gained a new subscriber! 🤘🏻

Your 2019 Street Glide is counter balanced. 1996 Road King is not counter balanced. It doesn't need it. The vibration is an engineering flaw (due to the firing order) that so many people have come to love about Harleys since 1909. The vibration is not the same as parallel twins or inline 4s. That type of vibration is buzzy and gets annoying, Harley's are like a heart beat that smooths out as RPM increases.

No guarantee that $20k new Harley is going to be trouble free either

I know this video is old but I'm not sure how many motorcycle accidents you've rolled up on? No gloves? Tennis-shoes? No leathers? Not sure any advice in this video is worth listening to at this point.

I like, like many others, are aware of the risk of riding without all the proper gear on. Sometimes, I just feel like riding in a T-shirt and sneakers. If I’m going to be out for a while or heading somewhere that isn’t a few minutes from the house, I’ll throw boots and a jacket on. If something happens, it’s on me.

@@twowheeledcop9029 I'm sure people you pull over also try to justify what they do even though we all know it's wrong. Does that make what they do okay or do you still give them a ticket? Most accidents happen within 5 miles from home. You should know that. Yes I'm kinda being a d*#k but not out of hate, more like to get my point through that thick skull of yours. I know it's on you but don't ever let your guard down on the bike and elsewhere. I'm only speaking from experience. Be smart, ride safe.

Garrett Smith you do realize that there is a difference in what is law and what is personal choice?

@@twowheeledcop9029 Man you really don't get it? That's ok man you win, you win. Let the ego control your decision making way of thought. Ride safe.

Just wait a few years and buy the new one used or certified preowned and get it for 6-8 grand less. I will never buy a brand new Harley again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I recognized that area… Lewisville/Denton area and from those pics looks you got the bike from American Motorcycle Trading company in Bedford… I’m eyeballing an evo there right now as my limit is around 8k and I have always wanted an evo. Great content just subscribed!

Well, I’ll spoil the surprise from later videos, but the bike had motor issues immediately after buying it. Ended up replacing the motor
