Congratulations on you new vintage Chanel bag! 🎉❤ I have collected about 20 Chanel bags. Some were sold to fund others. After these years, I still won’t spend the money on a new Chanel bag. According to the vintage Chanel owner’s booklet that came with a couple of my bags, the hardwares are gilded with an alloy containing 24K gold. Since it’s NOT pure 24K gold plated, (as many KZbinrs mistakenly clam), the other metals in the alloy, such as copper, will be tarnished. Therefore, in the booklet, it suggests, to avoid salted air and water. Also, I avoid hand sanitizer. Hope I have helped.

I think you made the right decision! I’m in the same boat I purchased a classic flap new in 2019 and within the past few years I’ve jumped head first into vintage and vintage is GIVING!!!!! You just can’t beat the quality. I’m considering selling mine to get a vintage as well. Congratulations on your beautiful bag!

Aww thank you!! I know the new ones are still beautiful but even the butter soft leather of the vintage ones is insane plus the 24k gold plated can't be beat. I would suggest taking your time on your search so you find a perfect vintage one you will looooove

Your bag is lovely and I understand why you preferred the vintage. Honestly they are nicer. I have this same bag in pink and it is 27 years old and still very lovely. My other one is 28 years old and lovely too. That 24 carat gold plating is so beautiful😍

OMG I'm so excited for you, I hope it went well. After of course confirming the authenticity it is good to check the corners for wear, the leather on the chain strap to make sure the leather is still in tact and also the hardware to see how much scratching it has. Lastly,I think it's good to do a thorough check of the interior to see what condition it is in :)!
